I was surprised when the redneck staff attempted humiliate me for no apparent reason, a few years ago. Took my business elsewhere quick. Have not been back since. more

been in there 5 times having them hold my hand about a gun purchase i haven't made yet. gun buyers are opinionated and so are sellers. deal with it. they have been patient with me and offered some very good advice and some not so good (too much antimony in a lead bullet makes it fragile BTW) and were arguing a point - maybe to give me advice when they thought they were right and to defend their product. i have seen arrogant gun sales and it's name is gun room in portland, or. chimo is on the whole, not perfect, but good. they also helped me with a transfer when i moved here when no one else would. thanks. more

Every time I have visited Chimo Guns I was ignored and got the distinct impression that I was a nuisance rather than a valued customer. The staff offered no communication, no eye contact, and no service. When I spoke to them, responses were abrupt and terse. My money is good and I am a frequent hunter and shooter who would like to do business with a local shop, but the atmosphere at Chimo Guns makes it clear that my business is not important to them. I must note that I received cold treatment on multiple visits from multiple employees, and that I consistently hear the same from other people, so it is a culture of poor service rather than a fluke. I will not be going back. more

I normally love to support the little guys and am pro small business but for these a$$holes I will make an exception, I will only go to this store if sportsmanswarehouse doesn't carry what I'm looking for. I don't know why they have such a attitude with potential customers who ask them questions about guns since they are a gun store. It seems like if they don't recognize you as a redneck crouny with money to burn they won't give you the time of day. I've spent thousands of dollars on different firearms and ammunition in the last few years and due to their arrogant degrading treatment of myself they didn't get a dime of it. The other time I went into the store they ignored me for 5 minutes as I stood at the counter waiting while 2 employees talked politics with some redneck cop. I haven't gone to this place in about 5 years, after a horrible customer service experience with them. I purchased a 22 MAG from them, and asked them to give me $100 in ammo for it. As I was looking around the store waiting for paperwork to go through, they filled my bag with the ammo, I paid for everything, and was on my way. Later I returned home to find that the fat man had given me 22LR ammo (Which is completely different the 22Mag ammo). I hopped in the truck, drove back down there, and asked them to exchange it. I wasn't gone from there for about an hour, dealt with the same fat a$$hole, who told me he couldn't do anything about it. All he could do is sell me the correct ammo this time. They have a ""All gun sales are final"" policy (I found out because I tried returning the pistol at that point). The guy wouldn't even acknowledge he made a mistake.. his attitutde was ""Welp, $hit happens I guess""... I will never do business there again, and its unfortunate how much money it cost me to remind myself why I stopped going there in the first place. I agree, the valley needs a good gun store... I hope Sportsmans eventually puts them out of business, and opens up an oppertunity for another local store to open up that actually gives a $hit about their customers. more

Agree with DokWatson. I was in the store last week looking for a new firearm. The older fella was nice but the taller guy was a jerk. Sarcastic answers to my few questions. I don't know which of them owns the place, There are usually 3 gentlemen running the store. One is a real jerk, And has no clue what he is talking about. Can't tell the difference between 7.62X39 and .308 Winchester (Really, He can't tell its not 7.62X51) Stood there while he told a guy they were the same thing. Don't try and correct him, He'll just use his right to refuse service. Have also seen him cuss out a lady for trying to return an item, Pointing out his no return policy, Completely uncalled for. Theres another elderly gentlemen who is nice, But can never answer any questions. And there is one more who is an Ex-Marine, And knows his stuff. He is nice, And very helpful. I wish I knew their names, I stopped going there awhile ago. I wish somebody else would open a decent gun shop, I try not to go there unless I have to. Nobody else stocks surplus Military ammunition. Pros: They do have some nice stuff Cons: Over priced, Often don't know what they are talking about. more

Stopped by their shop for some hunting items. They were not opened yet but pulled up just behind me. As they unlocked the doors I asked what time they opened and they said ""come on in"", a full fifteen minutes before opening time. Now that is service. Bought $50 worth of stuff and left happy. 3 out of 3 times I have tried to do business with them. The first time I called they said they didn't know and to call back later when ""so and so"" was in. The second time I called and asked for a particular item was it in stock? Yes was their answer. I did this as I would have to drive from Anchorage to Wasilla (where they are located). It was not, nor had they carried this item for some time. The third time I called about an expensive item they were dealers for, they just replied ""NO"" and HUNG UP immediately, not, ""I am sorry we don't have that in stock, can I order it for you?"" etc. They just want to get off the phone as fast as possible. I have visited Chimo Guns & it's Owner: Roy Wallis on many occasions. They have the Finest & most Extensive line of Arms, Fishing & Camping Gear anywhere. Pros: Extensive variety of everything a Hunter, Sports Fisherman, Hiker or Camper would ever need or want. more
