I've rarely had the pleasure of paying someone to come into my home to be insulting, condescending and do a less than workman-like job. But that was my experience with Ch. Dr. of Concord. After criticizing the way my stove was installed, and that it presented a fire hazard, Walter and his crew proceeded to sweep the chimneys nonetheless. He quoted me a price for remedying the situation, which dropped by about half by the time he left; still about 2x what the job is worth. The price we paid or the cleaning was more than i had been quoted on the phone, and I would have gladly paid him more just to get him out of my house. Rude, crude and could use some schooling in customer service. It's the last time that i'll do business with this vendor. more

I found Mr Zajac to be honest and informative. The men who came to do the work were very professional and skilled. They were concerned about my time schedule, which is very refreshing. Friendly, honest, and very reasonably priced service. I thought I needed a chimney cleaning after trying to burn some birch logs instead of our usual Duraflame log and smoke poured into the house. They came between the hours scheduled to look at the chimney. They did no cleaning, but I got a valuable lesson in log burning (which is very different from Duraflame burning) and got some other very useful tips. They charged a modest amount for the house call and inspected the outside as well (suggesting and quoting a price for waterproofing). They could have cleaned the chimney and charged a lot more, but they told me that it didn't really need it. You don't usually find such honesty these days for house maintenance. It was a pleasant surprise. I would highly recommend them. more
