We spent Valentine's Day at this restaurant. The moment you walk through the door you can smell the light, fluffy dough that is the staple of every pizza, from the wonderful virgin pizza (the freshest tomato sauce and parmesan cheese), to the suprisingly delicious fig and gorgonzola cheese pizza. We were lucky enough to have the chef come over and talk about the menu, and you could see the thoughtfulness and care that laced each pizza creation. Hearing him speak was reminiscent of Laura Esquivel's ""Like Water for Chocolate"" where each dish absorbs the emotion of its creator, and each dish for this man was special, delicious not only due to the combination of ingredients, but to the quality of each ingredient. The fig jam that was in my pizza is home made with a balsamic vinegar reduction, and its mealy texture is the perfect complement to the warm and gooey gorgonzola cheese that melts in your mouth. We were the last ones to leave, and yet the owners insisted we stay a bit longer so that we could finish our bottle of wine (it is fortunately a BYOB) in the comfort of the warm and resplendent atmosphere. All in all, our experience couldn't have been more perfect, and we've already made a reservation to come back next week.
Pros: The pizza is amazing, as well as the proscuitto ball appetizer!
