I tried the “Chicago Dogs” restaurant that is located close to the UTPA campus. The food is really good, but perhaps not the best for the healthy eater. “Chicago Dogs” offers something different than the traditional fast food. I went to this restaurant with a large group of friends and everyone was very satisfied. A new “Chicago Dogs” has opened on north 10th street for those interested in McAllen. more

Chicago Dogs 4/2/2006

Okay, being an Illinoisan I am hypercritical when the term "chicago dog" is used. This restaurant is not disappointing though. They have several different types of hot dogs on their menu and all that I have tried have been excellent. The restaurant is very casual and inexpensive with games around so you can grab a game and play while you wait for your food or eat. It has a fun vibe to it. This is the closest to eating a Chicago Dog that you will get so far away from chi-town. Recently, a new restaurant was opened on North 10th street in Mcallen but I have yet to go. more
