Worst

When dining at a French restaurant I don't expect plastic check-board table clothes. I don't expect the Chefs to be young kids that probably have no professional culinary experie...

I love this place! Finally had to get around to posting a review about it. If you like French food, its not going to get much better (especially for the price) in Austin. The atmosphere, and the staff keep you snuggled in tight for a great dining experience. Bon Apetite!! ;) more

Big Disappointment 6/26/2003

We frequent nice restaurants regularly and have always been pleased with our choices, so you can imagine the disappointment from our bad experience at Chez Nous. First, we were not seated, but rather ""pointed"" to our table. About five minutes later, an unpleasant mute placed menus and warm water before us. Then the wait began. We sat there for TWENTY-FIVE minutes without being waited on or even approached before we walked out. Furthermore, the staff was completely unconcerned about losing our business, a sure sign of bad management. I would never recommend this restaurant to any person and I hope this experience does not happen to anyone else. Cons: Bad Management, Terrible Service, Rude Waitstaff more

Small, charming and unpretentious, this is my favourite place for extended lunches to linger over pate and wine with Francophillic friends. Despite its size and casual atmosphere (denim is not out of place here), the menu offers a large variety of upscale French cuisine, including two catch of the day selections, prepared either a la Meuniere or Provencale. Do not miss the bistros Escargots de Bourgogne. The aroma alone will intoxicate you. If you consider dining an occasion, rather than a frenzied midday activity, this. small jewel of Austin is for you Pros: perfect lunch spot!, ample wine selection, excellent service more
