chess for kids 6/6/2012

I highly recommend any parents who has kids that have interested in playing chess to join Chess Emporium. My son is 7 year-old and he love playing chess there, and he likes all the coaches. Coaches really pay attention to your kid need, and help them to improve on their games. more

A great place for kids to learn and grow. 7/3/2011

My son participated in the school programs, the evening round robins and Saturday tournaments. He loved the challenge of chess, learning how to think through his moves while anticipating his opponents moves. Particiapting in chess tournaments taught him how to concentrate and stay focused which paid off later in High School. He had fun, made friends and learned good sportsmanship. more

Not worth the $$$$$ 8/11/2009

These people are a joke. The stuff they teach at their school program is just the basics. If your child wants to learn more than the beginner type stuff you are going to drive and fork out a lot of $$$. To play in their tournaments you have to pay for a membership you can not use anywhere else (they do not have USCF rated tournaments like the rest of the country.) We have discovered life outside Chess Emporium and it is a better place to be. There are lots of other choices for chess in the Valley - and they are all far superior to these folks. Check out AZ Chess Central - they know what they are doing when it comes to kids & chess. more

My little cousin goes here and it's a fun place to play and learn chess. The fee is a tad bit expensive but if you got the money it's definitely worth it so don't miss out on this opportunity. This place offers seasonal courses or you can sign up just to join the tournament league. more
