Without a doubt, Petrina is the best! As Petrina's first client, I can say that she is exceptional at what she does! Hair color, cut and style are her specialties. It truly is an art to doing great hair and Petrina is the best artist around! So, if you are seeking to look your best....go see Petrina. She does both men and women's hair equally well....and to match a style and color that is all your own...Traditional, trendy, preppy, conservative, weddings, indy, rockabilly, mod, goth, punk...you name it....she can do it. As a person, she is always willing to listen and a pleasant host...give her a try and tell her....Tim sent ya. :) Pros: Tuesday Morning and Marshalls are right there to get some shopping done too. more

If you want to banish those grey highlights, if you need to really fix that bad haircut you got, go see Heidi. She can transform any Cinderella or frog prince into a real beauty. Her expertise in color is amazing. She truly knows her chemistry. Everyone stops me to ask ""who did your highlights, they look amazing!"" WOW ROBB IS GREST # 3 12/10/2006

So, I found out that my hair stylist had quit his salon and a minute later I'm frantically pouring through Citysearch reviews, trying to find someone new. ROBB NESS had by far the most (and the most positive) reviews, plus it was only 3 blocks from work. I called in the morning, trying to get something that day, thinking it was impossible, but the he squeezed me in during my lunch hour, which I really appreciated. I arrived with the same nervous energy I have whenever someone new cuts my hair, but I was immediately put at ease with Robb. He knew what I wanted and went straight to work. I have to say: I've been getting basically the same haircut for the past 10 years, and it has never looked as good as when Robb cut it. I didn't have to get used to it or wait until it grew in a little to really like it. I loved it from the moment I got up from the chair. Petina's blowouts are awesome!! 12/6/2006

I have been seeing Petrina for my hair for nearly 4 years and her blowouts are amazing. The salon is really comfortable and laid-back and when I go to the salon it's like going to see a friend rather than a busy snooty salon. No one knows curls better than PETRINA in #33!!! 12/4/2006

I've spent most of my life looking for someone who can work with my mop of curls. I thought I had died and gone to heaven when I found Petrina - I've followed her from salon to salon ever since. Not only does she give me a great cut, but she's a whiz with color and a fine conversationalist. I found this amazing woman at a shop that looked so appealing to me from the outside that I just had to go in.I asked who was good at cutting straight hair, they said Patrina. I was so happy when she was done that from then until the day she retires I will be a loyal friend. She's an angel with a great pair of hands!!!! She cuts my hair exactly as I like and colors me so well I get compliments all the time. My daughter and my granson are loyal fans as well. The best thing going at this Chess and Burman salon is Petrina!! 12/2/2006

Chess and Burman has the great idea of renting out individual spaces rather than just stations at thier salons. The result is a cozy and personalized space, which in Petrina's case equals a lush atmosphere of dark purple walls and sparkling crystal lamps. Don't ask me what this hair diva is doing in Studio City, but I take it where I can get it and this is the place to go!!!!! I am sure you can find every type of stylist at this location, but if you really want the best cut or color, find Petrina!! I have been getting my hair cut by Petrina for three years now and will always go to her. There's no one else I trust with my hair for color and cuts. Petrina is wonderful, she puts you at ease and knows exactly what you want. She first always asks what you have in mind for your hair and is never pushy or discounts your opinions/requests. I have been loyal to Patrina for five years now. She did my hair for my wedding and now she's cutting my 3 year-old daughters hair!! My husband goes every three weeks without fail. It so happens she's a wonderful person on top of being an artist at hair. I can truly say she can cut a wicked short do or glue in extensions. She has been known to color my hair pink and blue during my wild moments. I feel you can't go wrong when you're under her care. Petrina is fantastic with color and her cuts are exactly what you ask for. She cut and highlighted my hair for 2 years and I never had a problem with either. Petrina in room #33 is AMAZING! 12/1/2006

Having just permanently settled in LA last January, I asked a good friend with fantastic hair where I should go to get my hair done locally. She helped me track down Petrina (room #33) in her new location. After being shown to her room by a lovely reception-gentleman (I think his name was something like ""Joseph""), I got ready to be beautiful! I admit, I was a little skeptical when I saw her, as I didn't want blue hair of my own, but she made me feel right at home with my favorite magazines (I got to catch up on Brangelina!), and did what is arguably the best coloring job I've ever had. I've never had my reds stay red so long, or my blondes stay so honeyed! I can say I'm now exclusively a Petrina girl, and I've recommended her to all of my friends. Thank you, Pet! I've been searching for a salon that can work with any type of hair and although I found several that can style my hair, I had yet to find one that can both style and cut my hair the way I wanted. I have thick, wavy, long hair and had it cut and styled by Robb. I was very pleased with the results. He listened to what I wanted and explained what he was going to do. He took his time cutting my hair and blowing drying it straight and smooth. Trust me, this is no easy task! I never felt rushed and I simply love the cut. He's a fabulous stylist and very professional. A good cut goes a long way. Friendly and comfortable salon. I will definitely be back! more

Robb Ness in Room #3 WOW 11/2/2006

When I moved to Studio City Ca, one of my biggest fears was going to a new salon. So scared in fact, that a flew across the country twice to go to my old stylist. What a relief it's been to find a great salon in the city I can call my own. I've recommended Robb to all my friends and haven't had one complain.
