Cheshire Crab Restaurant

"CHIP" CLAYTON HAS JUST JOINED THE CHESHIRE CRAB IN THE KITCHEN. EVERYONE IN PASADENA KNOWS HOW WELL CHIP CAN COOK, (HIS TALENTS WERE WASTED AT BILLY V'S) AND THE GREAT CARE HE TAKES WITH HIS SUPER RECIPES AND ORGANIZATION. Good: Crab dip. Bad: Service, Prime Rib, No silverware..... Non existent service! Indifferent staff, Meat was ordered medium well and was served rare even after it was sent back! Waited 25 minutes to get served and the saga continued! Overpriced...appetizers x2, 5 kids no kids meals with mac and cheese at $6?? and sandwiches -$120 w/tip. RIDICULOUS and not very good food. The service was inconsistent an overall awful experience!. Improvements: New management with staff training, more servers, a new chef, a new lower priced menu, greater quality food, practice providing utensils for all patrons so they can eat their food?. Other: We were looking for a crab place so we figured we couldn't go wrong at a marina? We were wrong. It took 25 minutes after we were seated just for our drink orders. We then got appetizers but had no utensils for them. I ordered a 16 oz. prime rib which was not med well but rare even after I sent it back to the kitchen. When it returned it was minus my order of onion rings that it had. There were at least 8 oz. of fat on the 16 oz prime rib. The service was slow and the staff indifferent. No kids menu!. more

Went on a Monday evening. Out of almost everything we asked for. Took 20 minutes to get appetizers and another 40 minutes to get dinner. The bill was over $80 - for what we had. Not worth it at all. more

This is one of those authentic seafood restaurants with paper tablecloths and where the entrees come with hammers. It is located in a woodsy setting near the Chesapeake Bay, in the back areas of Pasadena. If you live in the area, it is a good restaurant to take visitors who want a ‘real’ Maryland seafood experience. more
