Cheng Alterations

My parents traveled almost two hours to go to her after I read the reviews. I regret that I took my parents there. She was rude; she acted as if we were bothering her. She offered no helpful opinions. It was clear that she did not want to help. Something is wrong with her. \r \r I believe that the good reviews are from older customers of a certain hue whom she probably bends backwards to help and show every ounce of respect towards.\r \r She was terrible. Horrible. We took our business elsewhere. \r \r She deserves 0 stars, but the program is set up to give a rating. more

Judy is a pleasant person who makes every effort to satisfy her customers, many of whom have been coming to her for years! That says a lot to me as a consumer! She is reliable, does good work and is honest; rather than ""take your money"" for something that she feels can't be altered or fixed, she will tell you not to bother or to take the item back to the store! Cheng's Alterations is the best place to go to for alterations. They are super duper nice, thorough, goes the extra mile to make sure you get what you want done and doesn't try to rip you off. I definitely recommend this alterations place. I was recommended by JCP men's dept. because my husband needed alterations on his suit and tux. They did such a professional job that we went back with regular clothes and we remain customers to this day! :) Pros: Very thorough and very neat work! more

I contacted Cheng Alterations after seeing the wonderful reviews that she had. She informed me that she no longer worked on wedding dresses due to some problems with her hands. She then recommended Lam's Tailor and Alterations and claimed that she guaranteed that their work was as good as hers. This was a lie. I have had nothing but bad experiences with this tailor and therefore no longer trust Cheng's either. Cons: poor recommendations, untrustworthy more

I highly recommend Judy at Cheng's Alteration! Anything you want altered she can do it. She will even explain what is best for your fit according to your height and size, and give suggestions on how to wear them to make clothes look like its custom made for you. She is very attentive to details and make sure that what you want is exactly what you will get! I am very comfortable with Judy altering even my most expensive designer dresses! \r \r TIP: Call Judy for directions if it is your first time to go there so you will not get lost. It is very near Honeybaked Ham / Dunkin Donuts along six forks. I did not get lost / confused on my first time visiting her because she gave me directions over the phone. I'm having my wedding dress altered there and the service has been amazing. My dress was way too big and the owner has spent countless hours with me to take it in, add straps, and make it work, charging only for the alterations (very inexpensive), not the time. The work is high quality. I would highly reccommend Chengs not just for bridal alterations, but for anything. Great service at an excellent price! The lady who owned the store was VERY helpful and quick at completing the alteration in time for the wedding I was attending. She did not take advantage of my situation and even suggested not to do certain alterations because they would be too expensive since it was a bridesmaids dress. I just wanted to let those of you who have enjoyed the work that Cheng Alterations has done for you in the past and have visited the old location at North Hills, like I have, that the store has moved north on Six Forks Road to 111 Windel Drive Suite 109across the street from the Honey Baked Hams. The owner, Judy, has always been extremely honest and courteous, and her attention to detail is what keeps me coming back. Now that they have changed locations they are better than ever. more

The owner, Judy, is friendly and honest. She's quick and does things right. Prices are super reasonable. I've even brought her clothes before to get her opinion and she'll be honest since she knows how things should fit. I would highly recommend her. Very convenient to North Hills Plaza.
