The carpeting in our home is over 20 years old, and has not been professionally cleaned in many years. We had stains from children and pets that I did not think could be removed. This is the 2nd time I have used Chem Dry. However, I found that it was more expensive this time and the office staff didn't seem to keep very good notes about conversation. Evertime I spoke to someone there, I had to basically start all over again with what I wanted to have done. I will say I do like the idea that they do not saturate your carpet and it dries fairly quickly, not a quick as stated in advertising but more like about 4-6 hours. I think that $452 for 2 hours of work is a bit steep, so not sure I will use Chem Dry again. Can't really afford that kind of cost. But I do want to say that the carpets looks great, now I will wait and see if the spot on the area rug comes back again! That shall be the true test as it did the first time. Although Chem-Dryâ??s system is geared to dry in 1-2 hours, problem areas could require additional solvents to be used which would increase the dry time on that area. I can always get an appointment in a timely manner, and they call when they're on the way. The guys are efficient, taking measurements and explaining the cost within a few minutes of arriving. They are able to answer questions about stains and cleaning. The carpets always smell fresh and look nice. more

THey did a great job, but the P.U.R.T. system did not completely work on my rug. RESPONSE FROM Chem-Dry of Michiana: We have two products designed for pet urine issues. Our regular PURT (Pet Urine Removal Treatment) is extremely effective at removing odors and we have sold thousands of applications with great results. Because of the more delicate nature of natural fibers in some area rugs, we use "PURT for Wool" on oriental rugs. While this product is not as effective as our regular PURT, it is much safer on wool fibers and will not damage the rug in any way! more
