It is always crowded. I don't understand why except it has legendary status. Mostly boring food but large portions. If you are driving down Seneca at lunch time stop in. Don't go out of your way to visit. more

One of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Its a bang for your buck. Also the portioning is large, for those who like that. I went there for a business lunch and came out with a very full stomach. more

Great 4/17/2006

If you want some great sauce, you know the red sauce, like Grandma used to make then check out this living landmark in Buffalo. The food here is fabulous. I love classic Italian. And this place delivers the goods. The pasta and meatballs are some of my favorites. They go so well with their famous sauce. more

If you want some nice Italian food, old fashion style, then this is place for you. Chef’s in Buffalo is famous for their Red Sauce. It is a very good sauce. This type of homemade sauce is my favorite part of this place. The food here is all very good and the portions are huge. more

This is a very fun place to go. This is an institution in the area. Everybody seems to have been here at least once. When you go in you are greeted with pictures of famous people. This place is famous for their tasty red sauce. The portions here are huge and the food is wonderful. more

I’m not a fan of this place. Overall the food is average. My meal is never terrible. The hype this place gets leads to high expectations. I’m not sure why it is famous because they meal is nothing special. The sauce is average at best. It garners a lot of conversation but there are much better places in the area. more

Italian Staple in Buffalo 3/30/2006

Chef’s is one of those places you either like or don’t like. I think it is their sauce that turns people off. Personally I like the establishment and enjoy the food. The atmosphere in the restaurant is interesting with all the pictures of famous people who have been there. This is basically an Italian staple in Buffalo. It is a great place to go before a Sabres game or any other event at the Arena. more

I don't get the hype... 3/27/2006

This place is an institution in Buffalo. When you walk in you are greeted with countless photos of many celebrities who have dined here. I really do not get why people love this place. The sauce is so bland and the food is at best average. The service here is nice the atmosphere is inviting but the food does not live up to the hype. more

Value for money 8/19/2005

This place was recently voted as one of the best Italian restaurants in town and so I decided to eat there one day. I am a regular at Olive Garden and I love Italian food. And the food over there was really good. I love lasagna and that's what I had over there. It was really good, I didn't like the sauce as much as the one in Olive Garden but then again it wasn't that bad either. I am not sure if I will ever go there again, but the place is worth a visit at the least. more

Looking for some good italian food. Well look no further. You have to check out their wide variety menu selection which will cover everything from appetizer to full course meals and soups. They have some of the best italian foods locally. This is a good place to go once in a while, when you are in the mood for some authentic italian food more

Great Italian Place 8/15/2005

This is a great south Italian place. The food is just great. They have some of the best lasagna, chicken, ravioli, speghetti. They also have specials for various days. I recommend any dish with chicken as I love them all. They also have some of the best desserts which includes cannoli, tiramisu and cheese cake. The food is awesome, prices are just right for this kind of food. Definitely a place worth visiting. more

I'm Italian...so this sauce doesn't do much for me. Doesn't remind me of gramma's at all. The other food is fair, but not worth all of the hype. more

Get the Spaghetti Parm 8/3/2005

If you love homecooked Italian this is the restaurant for you. The are locally owned and operated and draw a "celebrity" crowd of local sports hero's (Bills & Sabres). Thye have great lunch specials, the one that was highly recommended to me and I would agree is the best is the Spaghetti Parm. Make reservations, even for lunch as they draw a big crowd. The portions are so big, be prepared to take home leftovers. A great Buffalo hotspot!!! more
