Cockroach in the ceiling 5/28/2010

My experience at this restaurant was far from enjoyable. The food was ok but what made this experience memorable is that while having dinner a large 3-inch cockroach started walking up the all and to the ceiling. The staff was informed about this but nothing was done as if this was normal. In fact the owner that was standing behind the cashier counter didn?t even bother to check it out. I am not sure if there is an explanation of such disregard, other than general lack of cleanliness and complete indifference to customers. Pros: Ok Food Cons: Customer Indiference more

good food but prejudiced owner 6/2/2009

I have lived in Thailand on and off for 10 years and used to come here whenever I was in town, always treated with respect and good food. However, I will not return as I had more than one experience of the owner being extremely rude to Thai friends I happened to be dining with. It is something I see sometimes in Thailand (happily, i notice it rarely) but a prejudice of the lighter complected Thais against the darker skinned ethnic Thais. Pros: thai food is as good as any other in Tucson Cons: rude owner spoils my appetite more

Best Thai food this side of Thailand! 3/10/2008

The Best Thai food I've ever eaten -- and I've been to Thailand. The Lemon Grass Soup is expensive, but EXCELLENT! My 3 kids who love this restaurant also took me there last year when I visited them in Tucson. Went back a second time that week! It's a down home place, not fancy, family-run, (I believe Thai) with wonderful food. The Pad Thai noodles are the best with yummy peanut sauce, and I never thought I was fond of peanut sauce. If you like Asian food, you can't go wrong eating here! more

Best Thai food in Tucson 6/12/2006

Coming from a large West Coast city known for its great Thai food, I never thought I'd find anything good in Tucson, but I finally did at Char Thai. I've had curry and noodle dishes and both are excellent. The restaurant's interior leaves something to be desired, but the great, spicy food makes up for it. This restaurant is about 100 times better than Thai Saigon (which is atrocious). Pros: Excellent flavors, lots of seating, free parking Cons: Cheap decor (don't let it scare you away) more

Good pad thai 3/22/2006

Ordered the pad thai and coconut red curry with chicken. The curry was average, the pad thai yummy! It had great flavor - a tasty blend of the shrimp paste/peanut/sweet-chili, one of the best I've had. I also ordered the mango w/sweet rice, and pleasantly surprised with how ripe and sweet the mango was (thought mango season was in May) and the additional tastiness of the sweet rice flavored with rose or orange water. I can understand how this place is a local favorite. The restaurant looks a bit worn, but the food is good. Pros: Tasty food, Inexpensive Cons: Decor/furniture worn more

Quick and Tasty! 8/2/2002

I'll be sorry that I've moved across town. This place was always the first option when I didn't want to cook. The service is great! The food is awesome! Pros: inexpensive, quick, good food more
