Not a good place to work for.. 6/9/2009

there is nothing unique about this place. This place is a joke. And to anyone who is looking for a job,PLEASE do not apply to this company. I agree with the poster above me that said they treat they're employers with little to no respect. I witnessed it the day I had an interview with them. Which gave me second thoughts about working with them. It's a shame that this company exists but they're not willing to help the local college student out. Or give a college student the chance to work with them. why call someone in for an interview if you know the job is only going to be for 3 weeks. .and still schedule for work when you know they have to do a lot of paper work/foot work to get the job... and then they still had the nerve to call and say:: ""oh they changed things up, so there are no more teacher' assistant positions.""- yeah, Ok I believe you. Seemed like you didn't want to hire anyone in the first place. or you guys are just doing some straight up discrimination. but thanks to the above poster for all that information!.. Cons: everything more

ChaRosa Foundation - 10/30/2008

The ChaRosa Foundation is an excellent organization dedicated to ""Helping People... Help Themselves"". They offer various programs including its after school program at PS 36. This program offers students the chance to receive homework help and additional learning resources through its tailored lesson plans. They also hire within the community which allows someone like me seeking employment to cut down on travel expenses while attending college. They also offer culture and arts programs, which is great when the government has cut funding for these programs in the public school system. I see students coming and going all the time with smiles on their faces after taking piano, guitar or even singing lessons. The ChaRosa Foundation is all about helping the community and without them the people of St. Albans would suffer. A big THANKS goes out to the ChaRosa foundation for ""Helping people (like me)... help themselves!!! Pros: 2 Thumbs up more

They do not treat their employees right 9/18/2007

ChaRosa Foundation is one the worst work places in New York City. They have a high turn-over rate for employees. 90% of their employees have been working at the organization less than a year. They have child predator who is not suppose to be near school aged students working in after school programs with students. They do not have good work practices. The executive director, Rosa Geneva, Charles Allen, and Delories Amaker treat and talk to their employees as if they are worthless. I don't believe Charles Allen is suppose to even be apart of the program, although he interviews all employees. They don't keep accurate records of students who attend their after-school program as they should. People can come off the street and pick up students without the staff properly verifying if they can. Its just horrible more
