The phrase ""the best hamburgers in _____ (fill in the blank)"" is so incredibly overused that my eyes and ears automatically filter it out when it is presented to me in advertising. BUT, when I find myself visiting a hamburger joint more than once a week (on purpose) and I find myself daydreaming about their food, well, something out-of-the-ordinary is definitely going on.\r

Charlie's Hamburger Grill definitely makes the best hamburgers in ...... I'm not sure how far the geographic zone extends, but certainly in Mansfield and Arlington, TX. Each burger is made to your specs, with a thick patty grilled to juicy perfection. The buns are perfectly toasted, soft as a pillow except for that almost crunchy bottom surface that meets the grill. Toppings are fresh, and the onions are grilled to that state of perfection where they are neither crunchy nor limp. And you must try their corn nuggets and fried zuchini. The ranch dipping sauce for the nuggets is obviously ""store bought"" but servicable.\r

Prices for burgers hover around $4.00, so feeding a family on the best burgers (also great buffalo chicken and philly cheese sandwiches) is not much more than at a drive-through box. Service is friendly and fairly fast, but the place can get pretty busy (as you'd expect) during normal dining hours. Best time to visit? My favorite is Saturday afternoon, when I can chow down while watching a ball game on the big screen TVs.
Pros: Food. Food. Food.
Cons: Charlie's is a small place, so be prepared for a crowd during prime dining.
