Anyone who lives in Orlando knows how bad Charley's on I-Drive or OBT is...I took my whole family there spent nearly $500.00 and the food was cold, improperly cooked, and not served until 11:00pm because they attempted to fix it without success...Our reservation was for 8:00pm...No compensation, no apology, nothing... more

What started out as a birthday celebration ended as a nightmare. Two out of three dinners were not edible, the server had to be the worst ever. Paid $75 and 2 out of 3 of us left hungry. When I called to talk to the manager, he was outright insulting. Agreed to alter my bill, guess what, never happened. I will never go back there and will post my horrible experience on every available venue. more

Charley's Steak House on Orange Blossom Trail is an awesome place for an awesome meal. The salad bar was fantastic, as was everything else we ordered. The servers were very attentive and we left very satisfied and VERY full. Pros: salad bar, friendly service more

Bases on my experience @ Charley's The first thing I look at is 'Cleanliness"" all I can say is they need to work on that ASAP. As far as the food it was good but if you are going to add Bleu Cheese Crust to the ribeye don't use the hand torch for god's sake!! UNLESS you like it ""Gooey"" style which was....No comment. Second the service was horrible and the place looked like it needed a face lift! so you can obviously tell they don't invest money in the resturant, You would think that spending $300.00 on a dinner for 2 the place would decent..WRONG. more

we went here spring break of 07, for my birthday. we had a party of like 12. the food was great, a little pricey but well worth it. The service on the other hand was some of the worst i have ever had. Our waiter was sick so hacking all over everything, was not listening to us when placing our order. We all wanted seperate bills and i know i specificaly asked him to put me and my husbands bill seperate, then once we were done eating he refused to split up the bill, we waited for over a hour after eating just to pay and had to complain too two other people another waitress and the bar tender, just to try to get our bill paid, it was my birthday so we were trying to get out of there to go out and he was just extremly rude. I got to say it was the worst service i have ever had. i will probably never go back there just for that. Hope your experience is better... My fiance and I went to Charley's on OBT for my birthday. It was my choice, and obviously the wrong one! We ordered Ahi Tuna as an appetizer which was supposed to be served rare. But instead we got something that did not resemble Tuna at all. It was way over cooked, and eventually our waiter came back so we could send it back after only eating two pieces. Next, we had to sit through an awful presentation of the different cuts of steak being offered. It was a little over the top and unnecessary. We both order filet, they were definitely better than the Tuna, but average at best. I do not recommend the peppercorn encrusted, which I assumed would be a nice outside crust of pepper but instead was whole peppercorns!! It was too dry and overcooked. And to top it off, what high-end steak restaurant has a salad bar?? It shocked me. All I can say is - I was very disappointed. The service was even worse with a waiter that paid more attention to his party of 6 (mind you they were not busy and it was a Sunday evening). We waited for the waiter to refill our $13 martinis and we waited to send back our Tuna, and we waited for the check, and then we waited another 20 minutes for him to even come back to collect the check. This is a great restaurant for special occasions such as anniversaries, birthdays, or a nice evening out. The service is usually very helpful and knows a lot of information in detail about their dishes. The appetizer choices are somewhat scarce, but all the food is great. I have heard numerous compliments on their steaks and mashed potatos, and I know personally that their fish and crab legs are delicious. However, I would reccomend saving room for dessert. Sadly disappointed. We had hoped for a nice dinner away from the Disney madness and decided on Charley's. While I enjoyed seeing the great selection of beef, I felt had my server spent as much time taking care of our table as she spent describing the steaks and pushing the ""blue cheese filling,"" we might have enjoyed a better dining experience. As it turned out, our appetizers were so-so, with the exception of the stone crabs claws which I would recommend. Our steaks were dismal, I had the rib-eye which was cooked exactly as ordered, but the three others in my party chose the filet's with the blue cheese and all arrived and were overcooked to the point of being over charred. This might have been mitigated had we seen our original server, but after bringing the appetizers out, we didn't catch sight of her until she came by to check on us and take dessert orders. To her credit, she looked at the filets and fully agreed with our assessment, and offered to bring us three more steaks out, but it was simply too late to wait another 35 minutes and I had shared my rib eye with the daughters. When the bill came out, our server had the manager not charge for two of the filet's...after reading all the reviews, I thought we had gotten lucky to get a table without a reservation, to my regret, I was mistaken. We went to Charley's and the waiter said they are the no. 2 restaurant for steak and fish. I had a pork chop and fish and I must say it was the blandest food I have tasted anywhere. What they lack in taste they try to make up in size as the prtions are huge but so are the prices!!! The mashed potatoes were cold so I complained and was brought some more cold mashed potatoes on which even the butter would not melt!!! The peppercorn sauce was too sweet !!! I tried 2 other sauces neither of which tasted very good!!! Mushrooms were great, langostinos were great, and the creme brulee was good but the MAIN parts of the meal were terrible. The best steak I've had (and I've been to many other ""Top 10"" Steakhouses) and wonderful service as well. I've never seen a wine list with so many options - and importantly the staff is wonderful at helping with recommendations. The salad bar is great, but I highly recommend the Ceasar. The menu said the prime rib was sweet and juicy, and it was. It really tasted great grilled. The employees were very nice. My favorite steakhouse! Don't waste money on side dishes or special salads. Just spend the money on their amazing steaks and deserts. Their steak is mouthwatering and tender. The flavor cannot be compaired. And I have tried! My Mom and I planned our visit the restaurant so that we could take the leftovers home to WA. I took my son to Charleys on OBT last night and our reviews were different. I ordered special of steak and stone crab, steak was not good. My son ordered a great filet. Overpriced wines, 1/2 glass was $9 ea. Professional, knowledgeable service except when I paid by my credit card only received one receipt. no receipt for me to sign or add tip. When I asked for it reply was, oh my god, and ran and got receipts, we had to ask for my sons drivers license back. Check your credit card bill, check the price of extras before ordering. Salad bar needs upgrading, most of tomatos had bad spots. Arrive early, parking lot 1/2 in back and other choice is $5. valet in front. I would not rate it #2 steakhouse in the world. My husband and I went to Charley's on OBT for our 5th wedding anniversary. According to friends it was supposed to be fabulous! What a joke!! Even though we had made reservations for 8 pm we still were kept waiting for 45 minutes. Kinda like a culture shock with the mixture of people waiting to dine also. Anywhere from women that looked like they should be on a street corner to a couple flying off to Italy. Food was OK. Lobster was overdone. Charley's has really great steaks for a really great price. I have been several times and the steaks are always wonderful. The waiters very, some friendly, some a little unconcerned, especially if you are a younger person. However the food at Charley's is amazing, even the side items. And at such a great price, it's hard to beat. And you eat free on your birthday if a friend buys an entree and you bring a valid drivers license. Really great deal then! more

After reading some of the other reviews, I can't believe we ate at the same place! Maybe I was just lucky, but the Food and Service was great, the last and only time I have eaten there. The Steak (their Signature Filet) is the best I have ever eaten. The folks serving us were warm and friendly, as well as attentive. My visit was a couple of years ago, but it has left a lasting impression. I speak highly of it, anytime steaks are mentioned, and the next time I come to Orlando, you can bet I will make my way to the Best Steak I have ever had. I am sorry those other folks that reviewed this restaurant had a bad experience, but I have found even my favorite steakhouses at home, have bad nights from time to time.
