Just wanted to let the guys out there know, fine for a guy to go here as well! Like visiting a resort! Excellent hair cutting services and received a very good massage as well. I'd rather go to a resort type atmosphere rather than a cheap discount place giving cheap looking haircuts any day. Was so impressed bought my wife and mom gift certificates for Mother's Day on the way out! more

Say, does anyone know what a texturizer is? Its for women that likes a short, sharp hair cut. Well, it is very simple to do. Put a little relaxer in the hair, lets say for about 5-7 minutes, wash hair, condition it, put a little curl activator in your hair and walk out the door. No need to sit under dryer, no need to thermal curl. Easy as pie, right? No, not for Jayah!!!! First of all, a texturizer is for a short cut...I had at least 6 inches of hair. I kept telling her it needs to be cut--she didn't want to cut so when she completed it. I looked like I had a afro from the 60's with a weave sewed in. She tried to fix it up. I told her nothing she could do would make it work it needs to be cut. So she preceeded to cut it, still left me with 4 inches of hair. (Do you know she charged me $23.00 to fixed what she didn't do right in the first place!?) It looked ok, I thought maybe I could work with it but I would never come back again; but it wasn't what I expected from a "DIRECTOR." I was there for two hours when it should had only been for 45 mins. So, I left with a whopping $172 less. What the f***. The next day after I took a shower---what did I look like; no not what I looked like, but what did my hair looked liked? My hair looked like it belonged to a drunk, a wine ole, a crack head. I can't even go to work today. I'm typing this review. I'm pissed. I can't wait until they open. I'm counting the hours and minutes. I will be back to let you know what happened (as if anyone cares). more

I went here when I visited some family for the holidays and it was amazing! When I get massages I always ask the receptionist if they can ask the Masseuse if they can keep the chatting down to a minimum..... Boy did they ever! After saying hello and figuring out what I wanted and didn't want, they didn't say a word! I fell asleep, it was so heavenly! I would recommend in a second! I would also recommend telling the receptionist if you want a chatty-Cathy Masseuse, or if you prefer a non-talkative one, like me. more

My husband bought me a pkg for a gift. The pkg included a massage, facial, pedicure, manicure, haircolor and cut and makeup application. It was an all day pkg. I received my facial and pedicure. While waiting for the massage, I was told the masseuse did not come back from lunch so I would get a gift certificate to come back another day for the massage, hmmm, well, Ok...Then while waiting downstairs in the spa area wearing the white robe, a girl frantically comes to me. Didn't they tell you to get dressed?? No... Well the girl assigned to do my hair called in sick so she told me she was going to be kind enough to fit me in but I need to hurry and get dressed and come upstairs. OK..as she colored and cut my hair she kept reminding me how she fit me in even. Sorry, I did have an appt. Why didn't Penzone figure that out. So she rushed through my cut and weave.THANKS!! After I left, I was a bit miffed at how I was treated. My husband spent a lot on the pkg and I was supposed to leave there relaxed and pampered. Needless to say, I did respond to their survey and explained exactly how the day was. I NEVER received a response from Penzone. Now when my husband gets me a spa treatment, he orders from other spas..NEVER Penzone!! Funny, I read how snobby some of the employees are and I have to agree...it is true...they do HAIR for goodness sake, where do they get the idea they are above anyone else. When I went back to get the massage, the masseuse talked the whole time about the celebs she's given massages to and how her boyfriend is cheating on her...Oh boy...that was really relaxing....SAVE your money and time...go anywhere else!!! I'd give them zero stars if I could... more

Went there to have a haircut. The professional was snobbish and did not know what he was doing. If you want to overpay for a haircut you can get at your nearest mall, go to Charles Penzone. more

When they were building Charles Penzone, it seemed like an odd location for a day spa. I wasn't complaining, because it was fairly close to me, and the services they offered were many. My first visit to Charles Penzone was to redeem a gift certificate. I made an appointment for a maternity massage and a pedicure. Wow, was I in for a treat. I could not believe the service that I got. The technicians were very nice and professional. I got the pedicure first and she took care to make sure that my nails would not smudge during my massage. Brenda did my massage and I can't believe how awesome it was. I was 9 months pregnant and very uncomfortable. She knew exactly where my pain was and worked wonders on most areas. I could not believe how good I felt for the rest of my body. My hips were killing me and she took the pain away for the rest of my pregnancy. more

This Salon and Day Spa has everything. It is so big that you could easily get lost. I went here for a massage and it was wonderful. The private room was quiet and relaxing with soft music and lighting. The decor of the whole spa is very luxurious. The staff is friendly and welcoming even if just a little pretentious and overdressed. Price is on the high end for Columbus but worth it for the atmosphere. more

ok this place is enormous!! they have aton of staff that does a little bit of everything from normal haircuts to full massages and other spa goodies. the prices are typical high priced salon but services are really good. I have had awesome massages and waxings there before-the haircuts are great too but as with anyplace make sure you ask around before just jumping into anyones chair. more

I have been going to Charles Penzone's in Gahanna for years for various spa services. Tatjana is a very skilled esthetician. She is always very professional, and does great work. I had all of my beauty treatments for my wedding day done at Penzone's and we were very happy with the services. My only complaint is that the prices for certain spa services are a little high (pedicures, massages, and such). more
