To be honest, every time I go to Char I typically wind up getting the braised short ribs. It's always been spot on. I did get the 8oz Filet Mignon once to mix it up and was pretty impressed. My only regret is that I asked for it done medium and not ""charred"". \r \r The ambiance is hip and trendy and service has typically been good for me. The only time it was questionable was Valentine's Day last year when the restaurant was swamped. I'd recommend Char to anyone looking for a great steak in a cool, happening place. more

Had a wonderful dinner celebration for our daughter's 25th birthday. Troy was our server. Excellent food, perfect atmosphere. Our table of four started with the crab cake appetizers, calamari and little neck clams then 3 of us had the special Halibut and one had the small Filet Mignon....everything was done to perfection....including the surprise birthday cake to our daughter! We still can't figure out how the waiter placed the dish in front of the correct young lady! Bravo to Troy! and to the entire staff for a wonderful evening. more

I am a steak person so naturally I ended up here couple of times and enjoyed both occasions. The best part of my experience was the atmosphere in the restaurant. The out-door seating looked great and weather permitting, we would love to have sit out. \r \r Food- The steak I had was great- the Filet Mignon. They have a pretty good wine selection to go alone with it. \r \r It is on the expensive side and relatively upscale. I'd say smart casuals should do it but it won't hurt to be dressed up a bit more! more

Great Food and Entertainment 10/24/2002

This restaurant has really good Italian food. It also offers great music and dancing. There are two different areas in the restaurant where there is a dance floor and they have a variety of bands, jazz and soft rock to salsa. My friend sings with one of the bands, usually on Thursdays, or Fridays. It is ok to just go hang out at the bar and enjoy the music and dancing if you don't wish to dine there. it is one of the best places in the area. Reservations recommended on weekends. Pros: Good Parking, Music and Dancing more
