The new Cary Char-Grill has both indoor and outdoor seating, so it's great when the weather is less than perfect. Love the flavor!

Just got take out from the Cary location, Very disappointing. I haven't been to CG since back in the day at the Hillsborough location. Staff seemed like they could care less, BBQ ...

no biggie, just burgers & dogs on Raleigh's trendy Hillsborough Street (near where I live, lol) and it's a safe bet you'll enjoy your food + the 50's atmosphere of waiting outside the window for your order to fill. more

The best hamburger on the east coast! everyone should try them. It is a basic fifties style drivie up hamburger place but it has the best hamburgers there are. The chicken sandwich and barbecue are also great. more

Put the top down, and cruise the parking lot. This place is the only one that can make you hungry for a hamburger from the road even if you've just finished eating somewhere else. (Try that at Burger King) Pros: Outside Dining more

Char grill rocks 7/24/2002

I can't believe I didn't know about this place until my third year in college! I actually get cravings for their burgers--specifically for char grill--and their fries are pretty good too. It would be nice if they had more seating outside. But that never stops me from going!! Pros: YUM, CHEAP, HARDY Cons: sometimes crowded, not a lot of seating more

Char-Grill: what a thrill! 7/24/2002

My college pals and I love to come to Char-Grill about once a week because it is inexpensive and the food is wonderful, and it is very close to NCSU and other campuses. You can get a great, filling meal for under $4 and top it off with one of the best milkshakes you will ever taste! Pros: inexpensive, good food Cons: in the ghetto, few picnic tables more

If you want a great burger or hotdog fast with courteous service, Char-Grill is the place. Please save room for their milkshakes... they are a must have too! Pros: good food, good food, good service Cons: have to eat outside more

Best burger I've ever eaten 7/16/2002

Incredible tasting burgers, great chicken, crushed ice. There is no better. Runner-up burgers can be found @ Barry's cafe in Cary, the Pittstop in Pittsboro, & PT's in Wilmington. I'd recommend the hamburger-steak for the most flavor. Pros: taste, crushed ice Cons: only pepsi, no coke, no locations in Cary more

Definitely the best burger in Raleigh! Be sure to top it off with fries and a milkshake. You can smell the grill a mile from the location. Makes me hungry every time. Yummy!! more

Best Burgers, oh yeah 5/19/2002

They are definitely deserving of Citysearch's Best Burger award. MMMMM, MMM!! Great shakes and seasoned fries, and an old-style walk-up restaurant to boot. There's a slight learning curve though--you have to write your own order down, (and there are no clear descriptions--like what a steak burger is vs. a regular burger), but you'll love whatever you end up with anyway. more
