great for kids 8/19/2005

i went to the chabot space and science center for a business meeting. they have great services and employees to coordinate things like parties for kids and meetings for adults. it's off the beaten path away from the highway, and because of that it a good place to view star at night. in fact, i think sometimes of special nights where there may be things like shooting stars or eclipses, they may be open late for viewing. call ahead to check! more

Chabot Space & Science Center 8/18/2005

The Chabot Space & Science Center is a great place for family and friends. They have a full dome digital planetarium which makes you feel like you're in space. There are many exhibits to see and you can learn about space. People go to see star thru the telescopes. It's very beautiful looking at stars from a telescope more

magic spot in oakland's hills 8/16/2005

The Chabot Space and Science Center is located in the hills of Oakland, CA. It's full of many great exhibits and even has a planetarium. There are several shows in the planetarium including laser shows and shows about how the stars move across the night sky. The exhibits rotate often and there is a kids area that has numerous activites that are geared for children. There are even maps and coloring books you can check out for your kids and activites that require them to get stamps. Admission is about $10 and depends on the activites you want to do (e.g. it costs more if you want to visit the planetarium and see a couple of shows) more
