I went to Cest La Vie this evening. After sitting there for over 15 minutes without so much as someone asking if I wanted something to drink, while other tables around me were being served. A couple came in after I did and already received their food with me still waiting for someone to take my order. When the female server finally arrived I asked for the dinner menu. A few minutes later she returned with the menu and put it on my table without saying a word...no ""sorry you've had to wait so long"" or even ""our specials today are"". After looking at the menu I put it down on the table and continued to wait. After 20 minutes I picked up my purse and left the restaurant. HOW IS THIS PLACE IN BUSINESS. There are many other choices in L.B. that actually appreciate your patronage. I thought about calling the manager/owner, but after reading the other reviews (something I should have done before I went there) it is apparent the management could care less what people think. i have never seen a restaurant run this crappy ever and i have been to my fair share of eateries but cest la vie is by far the worst. first of all the bugs...there are cokaroaches crawling all around there were two running around the balcony near our tableand the flies that hover over you while you eat because they won't close the doors. then the food nothing is what it seems on the menu you don't get what you pay for. for example when i walked into the place it smelt so horrible and when i asked the waiter what the horrible smell was he said it was the fish. i almost threw up all over the guy, but my family still wanted to give it a try. we sat outside expecting a spectacular view but got mediocre. the food came and i decided on the chicken which was ok but my mom got the seafood fettucine and man that was the most horrific sight any of us ahve ever seen the fish seemed old and uncooked which grossed us out. my mom asked to order somehting else and the waiter gave her a horrible attitude about it. then we ordered dessert because3 we figured it would be better, but no they brought us the tray that looked like dog**** i ordered a slice of the chocolate cake and when it came i noticed it was the peice from the tray. how gross!! so instead of eating it we just left but i warn anyone this is a horrible place all they care about is the money they make nothing else so please stay away from cest la vie you will regret it! If you want lousy (worst) service, paying much more than its worth, to include extremely poor quality of food preparation and poor female manager /owner service...this is definately the place for you and your family for the ultimate terrible family experiance. The waiter passed our beer to other members to hand to others, could not multi task or record more than one item at a time and constantly had to ask our requests again; we had to constantly remind the waiter for items or lack of; Fried fish that was ordered was ""yellow inside"" and uneatable, Had to asked server to get beer glass twice and received cocktail glass in its place, infestation of flies inside was totally unaceptable; requested to talk to female Owner/Manager failed to show up after fifteen minutes. She was to busy with other dissatified customers with the serving the old""cheesecake"" complaint. We payed the bill and left without ever talking to her. I cannot possibly believe this poor quality restaurant and owner is still in business and serving the public. Finally to say this was poor restaurant is an understatement. They might think about a new profession..maybe a parking lot for beach goers.... more

I can't understand how a totally spineless restaurant can compete with all the good ones but somehow C'est La Vie is right there. To start off, a rude red-haired gypsy woman who looked like Ernest Borgnine in drag forgot to seat us for about 10 minutes. Then imagine not even being able to get a glass of water or a menu until you've already been seated for close to 15 more minutes. Cons: Poor service attitude, food quality is not what menu suggests more

I am amazed how this place is still running. We ordered a couple of desserts (fruit tart to be specific) and a fish & chips. Disserts were defected (had hair on) so we asked for replacement. The replacement was still no good and had ash on it. If I say the fish was still alive, believe me. I am an expert in fish & chips and have swept the spectrum from Carl?s Junior to a high end British restaurant. I will not go there again period.
