Honestly, the staff is very nice BUT they have become expensive and I can't help wondering if it's to help pay for their new building. Years ago, Dr. Bunting was treating my dog who had a bad rash and was scratching terribly. She did not treat him but referred him to an Animal Dermatologist which cost me over $300.00. The Dermatologist determined he had a skin infection and gave him antibiotics which Dr. Bunting could have easily done. The next time I went to her, I told her about it and she was quite embarrassed and said she was sorry. But that kind of business won't cut it. I found another vet which is awesome and won't go back to Centralia Animal Hospital. more

Great vet and facility! 9/20/2011

Took our extremely grumpy obese cat here for the first time. Dr. Dyer took lots of time with us and with him and did what was needed (sedation) to do a thorough workup. Results - Butterscotch's long-time chronic problem has been turned around, he is on a diet :), and we are impressed! Everyone we met here was very nice and kind, and the facility is wonderful. I feel they will do what is needed but not push anything unnecessary, and cost is fair. We'll definitely be back! more

Wonderful, friendly, and accomodating Animal Hospital and Staff! 8/30/2011

The folks at Centralia Animal Hospital are TOP NOTCH! We had to board our dogs and needed to make sure they were current on all of their shots and physical, since we had just moved to the area. Centralia got both our Boxer and Great Dane same day, together. They looked over both of them and their charts. The only thing they needed was one shot for the Dane, the Boxer was up to date. After spending quite a bit of time with our dogs, they gave the shot and then only charged us for the one shot. No visit fee, and nothing to look over our Boxer! They were incredibly accomodating, extremely nice, and super nurturing to our babies. This will be our Vet of choice from now on! Thank you so much Centralia Staff!!! more

Dr. Dyer is wonderful! 1/7/2011

We started using this vet practice when Dr. Dyer joined it. We followed him from his last practice because of the superior care and compassion we feel he shows us and our pets. It's a bit far from home, but worth the trip! The other members of the staff that we have had contact with have been professional and caring as well. more

Best vet in Richmond metro area 11/13/2010

This clinic cares for my 7 cats and 2 dogs. I have been to numerous veterinary hospitals in the Richmond, VA metro area. Centralia Animal Hospital is, by far, the best. more

Fabulous Vet! 11/5/2010

They are always available when needed, and have hours that work for working people. Extremely friendly and willing to do what it takes to care for your pet. We had been going to a vet for years and they kept telling us there was nothing to do for our dog's allergies...we went to Centralia Animal Hospital and they won't give up until we find a solution. I won't go anywhere else! It doesnt matter which doctor we see, they are all wonderful!! more

Compassionate and Caring 9/14/2010

Compassionate and caring vet and vet techs. We had a very old lab mix that had slowly deteriorated. He became acutely ill and needed end of life care. The vet and techs at Centralia Animal Hospital were wonderful. They provided "Loaner" with a warm, soft bed, food, water, and allowed my husband and son to remain with him for his last minutes. He left us comfortable, gently, and knowing he was loved. The vet even provided us with an impression of Loaner's paw. A week later the vet techs followed up with our family to see how we were doing and even sent a sympathy card signed by the entire staff! What compassion they showed our beloved Loaner and our family. We now take all of our pets and our extended family's pets to Centralia Animal Hospital. more

SKITTLES 4/25/2010

Wow!!!! Took our cat in for a cat bite to the rump. Great service and very kind to even the "grumpy" furry customers. The team was prompt and very caring. The Vets/Vet Techs were so great. The service was superior of any care I've gotten any where else. Look forward to future care with you all. Thanks for being such a GREAT asset to our community. more

superb vet with wonderful bedside manner 3/15/2010

wonderful vet! my husband found dr. bunting and couldn't say enough about how nice she is. we didn't have to go to the vet often, however our dog got lymphoma and unfortunately we had to spend a lot more time at the vet. throughout our dog's sickness the staff (and esp. dr. bunting) were caring and compassionate with us as well as with our dog. dr. bunting even called our house after hours to see how our beloved pet was doing! needless to say her bedside manner won me over as well! i wish i could find a human doctor as nice as this one! it may be a little pricey, but i think it's worth it. more

I would never consider taking my pets anywhere but to Dr. Bunting and her Staff. She's been treating my pets for over 12 years, and I'll continue to take my pets to her as long as we live within a day's ride. :) I honestly feel that the regular care provided by Dr. Bunting and her Staff is responsible for my cat living a happy 19 1/2 years. Decisions are always made *with* you, and great effort is made to be sure that you are well-informed of all options for your pet's treatment. They never "push" expensive procedures or try to talk you into something that your pet doesn't really need: It's all about what's best for your pet AND you. If you love your pets, you'll be really happy that you chose this facility and Staff for their long-term care. Pros: Caring staff keeps you informed, works with you. Cons: None more

Dr. Bunting is the most caring vet around town. Her "bedside" manner makes dogs & cats alike feel so comfortable that they actually like to go see "Doc Shirley"! She & her staff really treat your pets like they are part of your family. We have been going to Centralia Animal Hospital for @ 12-13 years & refuse to go elsewhere. Dr. Bunting has been caring for my many pets for over 15 years. I am fully convinced that she loves them every bit as much as I do. She is calm, caring, gentle, compassionate, informed... I could go on but you get the picture. The perfect vet. My Wife and I have been taking our Cherished Little Pets to this Animal Hospital, for over (11) years. We find the entire Staff to be absolutely the finest people we have ever had the pleasure of doing business with! We have had many dealings with other Animal Hospitals over the past (40) years, but have never seen any of them come close to comparing to the genuine, loving care received from Centralia Animal Hospital. If you truly and sincerely love you pet, and want the absolute finest care for them, then this is the Animal Hospital for you. Best in the area 11/10/2008

We live about 30 minutes from this vet, but the drive is worth it. After trying 3 other vets, this one if by far the best. They know all of their animals by name and are so supportive and caring of your animal. We would recommend them to anyone! more

will not use another 10/31/2008

after having our three cats declawed when we returned from the middle east at another vet office m wife and I ended up at Centralia animal hospital with our three cats due to a botched surgery on all three cats. We had to have them borded at Centralia for over a month. I can not tell you how happy we were with the service and love that the staff and doctors provided for our cats and us. We now consider them family. more

Best Vet Around 5/6/2008

I have had 3 dogs as an adult. I found this vet about 15 years ago. I am on my second dog with them. They treat my dogs as friends as opposed to objects (like some vets I've been to). Haven't found more caring people yet. They have my business as long as they are here! more

Wonderful staff 1/15/2008

I have been going here about 7 years. They have the most caring doctors and staff I have ever experienced. They do cost a little more than some veterinary hospitals in the area, however, they do not recommend a bunch of expensive test and lab work unless they feel it is necessary. They take into account the age of your pet, what you can afford, but most of all what is best for the animal. If you live in Chester, you should really check them out. more

I took my cat here to get fixed .Nice,friendly staff.Seemed very caring about his well being after surgery.They even called to check on him the next day. PROS: caring CONS: a little pricey more
