Dr. Smith is my kitty's hero! 11/6/2011

I brought one of my cats to him after being given an expensive run around by my former vet clinic (Wells Branch Pet & Bird, which I suggest everyone avoid). They made me spend hundreds of dollars on tests without giving me anything in the way of a firm diagnosis, and were pushing hard at me to pay thousands more. Dr. Smith did one test and discovered the problem. I had heard he wasn more

Best Vet ! How Lucky Can A Cat Get!!!!! 7/6/2011

What a vet and what a wonderful staff and facility at Central Texas Cat Hopsital! Dr. Roy Smith is just awesome ! We are so fortunate to have found him when we moved to Texas. Although we live 26 miles away in Point Venture on the North shore of Lake Travis, his reputation preceded him and we wanted the best for our cats. (Don't we all?) Our experience with Dr. Smith and staff these last three years has been wonderful and our cat, Wolfie, has benefited from Dr. Smith's expertise. We are impressed too with his and his wife's committment as advocates and caretakers of feral and sick cats. He has the gentlest loving touch with all God's creatures. We have seen it for ourselves. Just the best!! more

Excellent knowledge and personal care 12/9/2010

First the fees is a little bit high compared to others. HOWEVER, they provide the best care I have ever seen. My last cat died a few months ago and Dr Smith kept him as comfortable as possible. He remembers all my cats' names. He also runs a non profit cat sanctuary. He truly loves cats and he loves mine. Last time I took a very sick cat to another vet. That vet whom should not be named was very reasonably priced but he misdiagnosed. I took that cat to Dr Smith and the cat turned out to about to have renal failure. Even it is a bit far way, I and my friends, total 6 cats, are lucky to have him as our cat vet. Now if I can find a dog vet for my dog.... more

CTCH - great clinic 7/9/2008

I am so fortunate to have had Dr. Smith as my kitty's doctor for so many years. There is no other vet with this kind of experience and skill. And the staff at Central TX Cat Hospital is warm and friendly. Simply the best. more

Central Texas Cat Hospital IS the BEST! 7/1/2008

I love Dr. Smith and the CTCH family!! I don't know what the review below is about... I've been to CTCH MANY times and I always get stellar service by the front desk and by Dr. Smith. He is the best veterinarian I've ever visited and always provides the BEST care for my kitties. He is knowledgeable, experienced, and kind. Also, both Doctor Mousers are so compassionate and have also seen my cats. I have been very happy with the care I have received. It's unfortunate that CTCH is getting some poor reviews when there is nothing to say but wonderful things about them. Sometimes people only write a review when they're unhappy... And about the prices - you get what you pay for. Dr. Smith is worth the extra twenty dollars. Pros: cat only, friendly staff, calm/clean environment, smart doctors Cons: wish he was in south austin more

The Worst Experience EVER! 6/10/2008

I have NEVER in my life been treated so disrespectful at any place of business like I was by Dee Ann Mouser DVM. I went into this practice and saw all the wonderful cats there and thought that this would be a wonderful caring place. I had 2 little kittens with me and asked how much the visit would be she said 58 per kitten to examine them and whatever shots would be on top of that. Grand total was going to be a little over 300.00 dollars. I asked if I could pay half now and then the rest later and she said I don't think this is the place for you. She kept repeating that I should go to Dr. McLeod I said go ahead and treat the cats and I would figure it out. She stated again, I do not feel this is the place for you since you seemed to be so worried about finances. We do not work that way here. she continued to state that she now had WASTED 2 appointment times on me! YES thats right she said WASTED! AND that I was making the staff uncomfortable...how I am not sure, but anyway, I started to cry, feeling totally insignificant, embarrassed and very much belittled. As tears streamed down my face and I kept trying to fight them back, SHE WALKED OUT. I was so disappointed because I asked her to go ahead and treat them and she expressed AGAIN at the end this is not a good fit for you, you need to go somewhere else. As I sorta got myself together and walked out. I must say I work at a place where people are never treated that way or turned away for inability to pay. NOONE SHOULD BE MADE TO FEEL LIKE THEY ARE LESS THAN HUMAN!...not even a cat! Pros: It is an all cat place Cons: YOU MUST BE RICH!!! or act like you have money! more

Best Little Cat Hospital in Texas 5/16/2008

I recently took my cats in to Central Texas Cat Hospital on Sam Bass and Dr. Smith after having heard good things about him. I found him to be knowledgeable, compassionate and thourougly responsive to me and my cats' needs. I only wish I had heard about him earlier. Pros: very progressive, does not declaw cats, wealth of knowledge more

Unprofessional Receptionists . . . 3/7/2008

I do no reccomend Central Texas Cat Hospital, everytime I speak to a receptionist they are very rude and make me feel like I don't know what I am talking about. I find it very unprofessiona, an because o this and overpriced treatment I no longer use them. The last time I called was to have my records transfered, because they refused to fax them to my new clinic and were rude to them when they called ( Suprise ) and they acted suprised that I was leaving!! Get a clue Central Texas Cat Hospital !! Pros: Cat Only facility Cons: Rude, Long Wait, unprofessional, more
