Fun place! 7/9/2008

I went for breakfast on a Sunday with my mum and we had a blast. The food was yummy (veggie omelet and a couple of mimosa's) , the server was very friendly and funny as hell. We sat at the bar because it was so crowded but I think we had one of best sets. All the people we sat around were friendly and we ended up chatting with them all. The prices were great too. Pros: Wonderful servers! Cons: None for me. more

Best breakfast I've had at a restaurant in a while 12/31/2007

I really enjoyed my food. At first I was a little skeptical because of how trendy the place looks. It is very nice though. One complaint is it was absolutely freezing when I was there. Could have just been that day, but I've heard from others it is usually cold, so bring a thick coat. I ordered a breakfast burrito (with black beans) and it was very good. The flavor was good and I could tell they use quality ingredients. The service was also attentive and friendly. I'd recommend it for breakfast anytime... I am not sure about lunch but my experience for breakfast was very good. Pros: Food is great, friendly service Cons: it was very cold but otherwise none more

Frequent Customer Very disappointed 5/28/2007

Always a perfect five until today. It wasn't that crowded...we got seated right away and thats where it stopped. Five tables were seated and served coffee after we had put our menus down. There were empty tables. No one acknowledged us - ignored us as they walked by. After 10 minutes maybe more without even an offer of coffee or acknowledging us, we got up and left - my wife told one of the servers why we were leaving and he shrugged as if he didn't care. more

WOW! 3/4/2007

This place is great! They do everything right on. The elbow room their martini bar is excellent as well. A definite gem in gresham. more

Great for Sunday Mornings 2/24/2007

Being from San Diego, I loved this place with the Hamburger Mary's surfboard on the wall (a favorite from California). Though it may take a bit to get your food it is well worth the wait. The french toast is doughy and delicious, the chicken apple sausage is a great twist to a favorite breakfast. I highly recommend this place as a great place for Sunday morning hangovers that crave hashbrowns and eggs. I appreciate the staffs edgey personalities and getting my coffee creamer in a baby bottle Pros: cheap prices on great food Cons: wait time for food more

Fantastic Breakfast Place 12/24/2006

My girlfriend and I have been there at least 15 times, and it is always good. The breakfast potatoes are the best around. I have eaten at all the breakfast joints in Portland, Zell's, The Tin Shed, Bijou, Cup and Saucer, etc..., and the Central Cafe easily holds it's own. Carla's Scramble is our all time favorite. And the service is good as well. Pros: The best breakfast potatoes in town more

Nothing wrong, everything right! 11/17/2002

I stopped in with a friend of mine, and for downtown gresham, this place is a place to go if you want good food at reasonable prices. ~CH more

None Better 7/30/2002

This is not only the best breakfast place in East County, I think it is the best in the entire Portland area. Fast, friendly service with excellent food cannot be beat! more

Best French Toast in Town! 7/25/2002

By far the best breakfast in East County! This was formally the Mt. Hood Cafe' and was bought by Rob Meeker a little over a year ago and has seen an amazing facelift. Each time you step through the doors the only thing that remains constent is the smiling faces of the fine people that work there and the wonderful food. It stops there. Rob gets very creative with his decorative choices. One day you may see a Surf Board hanging from the ceiling, the next day it may be car parts from years past. Whatever it may be it is a fun and welcome atmosphere to go with some amzing food. Lulu, the head cook, has almost as much personaility as she does tasty recipes. Highly reccomend Central Cafe' Pros: Food, Atmosphere, Friendly Staff Cons: Very busy most AM's more
