Like GR, we have such a positive experience at Center Stage. Our daughter feels safe, loved, and encouraged by all of the staff...directors, teachers, owners, and office employees included. She has worked with a variety of teachers, directors, and guest choreographers over the years and has enjoyed each and every one. The caliber of people that Center Stage brings into their studio (both past and current) speaks volumes for their professionalism and the respect they have earned within the dance community.\r \r Rather than reading what a few anonymous, malicious ""trolls"" have posted as reviews to this site, I would encourage anyone who is looking for a dance studio to visit the facilities you are considering beforehand. We stopped by three different local studios before making our decision to get a feeling for the students, teachers, fellow dancers, and parents. We even attended a recital to see what the studio would produce. We were willing to make an investment in our daughter's training and were looking for a rigorous program, which Center Stage is. It may not be for everyone. But, they do offer a variety of programs and levels catering to novice/hobbyist dancers to those who desire to train for a future professional career.\r \r Ultimately we decided on Center Stage because we liked the variety of dance styles that they offered which help ensure that each dancer can find his/her niche which helps develop confidence. The opportunities to learn, grow, perform, and have fun are unmatched! The owners and directors are well connected within the performing arts world which has brought countless opportunities for learning and growth even at a young age. Mostly, our daughter is passionate about dance which tells me that Center Stage is doing something right!\r \r Like any business, Center Stage isn't perfect. I'm sure it's a difficult business to run considering all that they offer, the number of students, and everything else that is going on...but I would never accuse the owners as being dishonest or money hungry. They have been nothing but great! We highly recommend Center Stage! more

I just adore the studio! It is like a big family and I have been so happy with how much my kids kids have improved his year. The ballet program is excellent and I love that my kids can also take so many different styles. This place is just so great! I can't say enough about this studio! I just love the owners Kim and Robin and all the teachers. more

WOW! NOT GOOD! Stay away from this place. The owners are thieves! They walk around acting like big shots, driving expensive cars, fancy house, trips galore. They are dishonest crooks. I worked for them for a short while and I must say, I was disgusted by what I saw. Don't fund their greed! NEVER sign a contract or agree to auto pay with these crooks! You will live to regret it!!!! more

Greed and dishonesty are not the best way to stay in business. Rude, dishonest, money hungry, disorganized people! This place is a NIGHTMARE! It may take a year or two for new people to catch on to their ways but once they do...look out!!!!! Oh, watch out for ""Miss Kim"" she is a con-artist! more

This place is awesome!! My daughter has grown so much this year!! The teachers are so nice and the staff work really hard! My daughters recital dance was adorable!! I loved every minute of it!! I can't wait for her to perform in the company showcase!! Would recommend this to anyone!! P.S. I have had many children at Center Stage and the comment below is completely false! I know that the lady is mad about her recital fee not being refunded - but what she failed to tell you WHY- all company kids get a showcase in February, a recital in May and a Showcase in June. They pay the same price as the students in 1 recital and get 3 recitals for the price of 1!! She just wants everyone to work for free to make her happy! People forget this is a business. If they don't want to pay for anything they need to go to a recreation center! more

Editorial review from Citysearch 5/7/2013

Rude, dishonest studio! As most others have already stated, Center Stage is far less than respectable. We have been very unhappy with them. Like a previous poster stated, they are very dishonest and strongly lacking in integrity. They charge too much, and even when I asked to be taken off of their auto-pay, the still ran my credit card without my permission. On top of the outstanding fees and monthly tuition that I have paid for my daughter to be on one of their company teams, they still find more fees to charge you and are unwilling to explain exactly what the extra fees are for. I was finally able to talk to the owner last week about a problem I have with them, but it took THREE weeks of leaving messages in their office and leaving voicemails and never hearing back from them. I was requesting a refund of the recital fee I had paid, because my daughter is not participating in the recital. They refused to give me a refund and repeatedly told me ""that's just how we do things."" I was so angry that I left. And now every time I walk in to the studio I am greeted with rude stares from the icy receptionists at the front desk. We will not be returning to this studio when my daughter's contract is up and I will give them a negative review to all my friends. I would absolutely not recommend working with them. I give them a few more years of operation before their greed runs them into the ground. more

Honesty and integrity are not their strong points. Not at all what they make themselves out to be. Unorganized, unfriendly and money hungry! This was not a good place to have my kids. Some children are treated like they are important there but mine and many others were not. Not good for for a kids self esteem. They have no business working with children. And yes, they will double bill you and hope that you won't notice. If you have been there long enough, you will see how dishonest they are. The contracts are a joke! If you do your homework, CS is not the leading UT studio to have it's dancers move on to the dance shows etc. There are plenty of studios in UT that have spacious, state of the art studios with amazing teachers. Dance Club, Vibe and The Pointe to name a few. Also, CS requires young children to change classes outside and walk around to the back alley unsupervised. Our new studio won't even let kids walk out of the building without a parent. more

Happy Mama! 4/28/2012

Best Studio in Utah 4/28/2012

I absolutely love this Studio!! I have no idea what the people below are talking about. If you are smart and read the contract when you sign your child up for a class--- you will get all the information about costume fees, recital fees, etc. They make everything very clear. They have a very spacious studio with amazing teachers and dancers! They also have the most dancers come out of their studio to be on So you think you can dance, dancing with the stars and many more! My kids teachers are always on time and I would never go to another studio! Go CS!! As far as the fees go they are just like the other studio we switched from --- unless you prefer taking your lessons from some hokey -untrained teacher in a recreational gym or in someones basement---- Not even in the same league!! Bottom line---Best studio in Utah!!! more

Bad news 6/14/2011

I thought that this experience would be good for my girls. I thought that it would build confidence and help my girls feel good about themselves. My three year old was belittled by her overbearing teacher because she was late for class one day. Really? She's three!!! She can't drive. This teacher intimidated both of my girls each week. Some kids are treated as though they are more important than others. How can they do that to kids? It seemed that I was always writing out yet another check to cover some kind of surprise fee. My advise? ""Do't go there!!!"" more

UNHAPPY6 5/18/2011

I am VERY UNHAPPY with CENTER STAGE!!!!!!! They are a very dishonest company. The things that bothered me are. 1- They charge way to much for the monthly fees. 2- They make 100% prophet on the costumes they make you buy. and they are very IN MODEST AND BORDERLINE NASTY!!!!! 3- THE RECITAL FEES ARE A COMPLETE JOKE. YOU MUST PAY YOUR MONTHLY FEE AND THEN YOU PAY FOR A COSTUME FEE WITCH CAN YOU 65.00-100 PER COSTUME. THEN YOU MUST PAY FOR A 35.00-40.00 RECITAL FEE AND THEN YOU MUST PAT A 5.00 PER PERSON FEE TO WATCH YOU CHILD DANCE.. ALL OD THESE FEES MUST BE PAYED IN CASH ONLY. NO CHECKS OR CREDIT CARDS. BUT YOU CAN USE CHECKS AND CARD FOR YOUR MONTHLY FEES. THEY KEEP ALL OF THE CASH MADE ON THE RECITALS. 4- TEACHERS DON'T SHOW UP AND WHEN THEY DO THEY ARE NOT PREPARED. 5- THIS COMPANY I FEEL IS ONLY IN THE BUSINESS FOR MONEY ONLY AND NOT FOR THE KIDS. 6- I FOUND MY DAUGHTERS TEACHER TO BE VERY RUDE TO THE LITTLE GIRLS 4YR OLD'S. WE DID NOT ENJOY OUR TIME DOWN THERE AT ALL. 7- MAKE SURE THAT YOU KEEP ALL RECIPTS OF ALL PAYMENTS YOU MAKE BECAUSE SOME HOE THEY WILL START SENDING BILL AND NASTY PHONE CALL. INSISTING ON PAYMENT WHEN YOU HAVE ALREADY MADE A PAYMENT.... more

A True Story. 5/17/2011

My daughter's ballet class was asked to be in the ballet, Peter Pan at Center Stage this year. We recieved a note stating that the cost would be $95.00 to cover the cost of the venue and for a costume, This sounded like a lot of money but we went ahead with it because my daughter was so excited. We were suprised when we arrived for the show, that there was a $12.00 admission fee. We were lead to believe that part of our fee was to cover the venue, I tried to justify the costume being $95.00 thinking that this Halloween we would be covered. With a gulp, I paid $36.00 admission for my family to watch the show. At the end of the evening we were all in for a big suprise. We were stunned when they came around and collected OUR costumes! We were told that the $95.00 that we paid was a costume rental fee!!!!!!. Never did they disclose that we were renting these costumes. Dirty! Needless to say we won't be back next year. more
