The stylist who did my color, cut and style was top-notch. The shampoo girl (performing a necessary part of the process) is a detriment to the business.
She whipped my head around quite a lot during washing, hit me in the head a few times with the nozzle, sprayed water everywhere and her work was generally rushed, rough and sloppy. She scratched my ear (I said ow! and she did apologize) she then used my shoulder to lean on to pick something up (rather than the counter). She had no understanding of being gentle with a person's head and there were a lot of elderly women there, too. I've never experienced such a sloppy, rough (and painful) shampooing at a salon. I was really surprised.....and it was too bad because the stylist was great. I would consider going back because the color and cut were quality, I would just ask the styist to wash me out herself. Unfortunate. I still tipped her a little, since I think it's the salon's responsibility to show her what she's doing wrong and improve her skills & I have respect for service industry workers as a rule. Bottom line-you never know who will share their opinion, so make sure your employees are trained well.
