Celebrity Diner

I've been coming to this diner for 10 yrs now. The food here is great and the service is wonderful! Yes, it can be a bit crowded...but that's only because everybody loves the food! The Turkey Burgers are absolutely DELICIOUS! Best Turkey Burgers I have ever had in my life...hands down! I've been to other diners on Long Island and no other compares to Celebrity! i was surprised to read the two earlier bad reviews... Living on long island you become somewhat of a diner connessieur, and for ALL the times i've been to this diner (and i've been going here since elementary school) I've not ONCE had an unsatisfactory experience here. I have always had friendly service and good food. The food always tastes less greasy here than in other diners and they also have more healthy options. unless you really don't mind when the restaurant is out of half of the food you order and half of the food you reorder and doesn't bother to tell you they have a limited menu until after you are seated. We've been twice: the first time was dinnertime and 1. the waiter was inattentive and 2. the order was wrong. The second time was around midnight on a Fri and there was practically no food left and the waiter didn't speak English well enough to comprehend our drink orders. I've been to the Celebrity twice, and chalked up the first experiance as a fluke. The waiter got almost our _entire_ order wrong, and had to bring everything back. (And I'm not picky about service, but a cheddar omlet is not the same as a feta and spinach omlet). Second time, midnight on a friday, with 4 friends. _Half_ the things we ordered from the menu weren't available. Nor were half of our second choices. Midnight may seem late, but they were open until 2 or 3, and the manager gave no warning. Waiter didn't speak english; no idea what a Bloody Mary was and assumed a gin martini was the same as a sour apple martini. Manager was uncaring about complaints, and didn't try to make it right -- not even an apology, just excuses. Two strikes and I take my business elsewhere. I suggest you do as well.
