I must say that I am always skeptical about recommendations for restaurants, but I wish I had heeded the warnings and from my friends this time. I was extremely disappointed with the quality of steak from The Cattle Baron. I ordered the 14oz ribeye rare, which is my preference. The steak was cooked to the correct specifications, which was pleasantly surprising but that's where the good things came to an end. The ribeye was dry and tough, difficult to chew and didn't have the flavor a ribeye should. In fact, the ""eye"" portion of the steak, which is the most tender part, was completely missing from my cut. Not a drop of juice exited the steak when I cut into it. My poor ribeye just sat there, dry, lifeless and uneaten. The salad bar was also a disappointment. The cold pasta dishes were either ruined by too much mayo or too much vinegar. However, the tomato bisque was pretty decent.
Pros: friendly service
Cons: poor quality steaks
