Didn't Want to Leave 8/2/2011

Met some college friends at Catherine Lombardi. We had a wonderful time. The cocktails before dinner at the bar were delicious - I had a peach ""stone"" sour. The bartender was charming as well as a great mixologist. At our table for dinner we were treated to tasty anti-pasti to start. Everyone devoured their entrees. I enjoyed the Chicken Scarpariello. The maitre 'd was a great host and guide through the impressive wine list. The room is beautiful in hues of warm red. It all added to a great meal sprinkled with great laughter. more

Had a Wonderful Time 6/28/2011

My newphew attending Rutgers recommended this restaurant. Could not have been a better choice. The place is beautiful - I've never been in a prettier dining room. The staff was very friendly and professional. I loved my meal. The Eggplant Parmesean was the best I ever had. My waiter recommended a lovely glass of wine to go with my meal - wish I could remember what it was but it was lovely. Will be going back with my friends in the near future. more

Great Place for Business Dinner 6/27/2011

Recently I had coordinated offsite meetings at the Heldrich in New Brunswick. They recommended Catherine Lombardi for a group dinner. Could not have been more pleased. Very easy to set up the dinner. All handled with a few quick emails. Great menu packages at a variety of price points. The food was GREAT! Staff was GREAT! And the dining room is BEAUTIFUL. I coordinate a lot of meetings and dinners and loved doing business with Catherine Lombardi's staff. Will be back. more

A Wonderful Night 4/18/2011

On a recent trip to the George Street Playhouse in New Brunswick my husband and I stopped in to Catherine Lombardi for dinner. We had such a wonderfule time! Everyone from the hostess to the bartender to our server was warm and gracious. The room was so beautiful - wonder red walls, couches and two fireplaces. This set the tone for a wonderful meal. I enjoyed a delicous cesar salad and a wonderful pasta dish with black olives and balsamic vinegar. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his pork osso bucco. We went back after the show to enjoy a night cap at the bar. A beautiful ending to a great evening. Can't wait to go back. more

Had a Great Time 4/12/2011

I recently attended a business dinner at Catherine Lombardi. My staff and I were celebrating the successful completion of a project. We had a wonderful time. The staff was great - very warm and friendly. The food was outstanding - I love the stuffed pork chop. The wine list - well choses - plenty of wines at every price point. We are holding planning meetings in New Brunswick in June and definitely will be coming back to Catherine Lombardi! more

Best Cocktails Ever 3/23/2011

It's hard for me to drink anything other than beer or wine at any other bar because the drinks are so good here (and no other bar comes close!). Fresh squeezed juices - any liqour you can imagine. Classics like Manhattans are great but try some ot their specialties like a Darker and Stormier - an improvment on Rum and Ginger Beer. Food is great too! Fun crowds on Friday and Saturday nights! more

Beautiful Food, Great Space 3/23/2011

Easily one of the prettiest dinning rooms in NJ. Love the food - fresh made mozz is a hit! Loved the Osso Bucco. Good wine list with wines priced for every wallet. Brining my family back soon for Pop's birthday. more

Very nice romantic dinner on Valentine's Day! 2/24/2011

My husband took me to Catherine Lombardi's for a Valentine's Day dinner and I just loved the place. We sat close to their fireplace and the ambiance was great as we could look out the window (they are on the 2nd floor) over New Brunswick too. We both started with some kind of pear & pecan salad that was very tasty. Then I had their eggplant parmigiana (which seem to literally melt in my mouth) and my husband had their veal porterhouse which he loved too. For dessert we split their molten chocolate cake which was decadent. We had a great night and we plan to go back for our next special night out in the future. more

Italian food with style 3/14/2009

This place is really awesome. Betweeh the two fireplaces and 2nd window seating, it's hard to choose where to seat. The food is amazing with some fusion items alongside some traditional dishes. Best thing about this place is that you can make your night into whatever you want from just pasta and antipasti to their delicious stuffed pork chop. Best upscale Italian in Central New Jersey 1/6/2008

Warm, yet cool ambiance. Great service which started from the moment I made reservations. Friendly hostess, and extremely friendly and eager to please servers. They have an interesting cocktail list and an encyclopedia sized wine list. The food is a bit on the pricey side but definitely worth it. My favorites are the eggplant rollantini and veal chop!
