Stay away from this business!!! Customer service?? Forget about it! Yes, I was stupid enough to say on one of many forms that I was “ever diagnosed with high pressure”. I was trying to be honest and just wanted to mention that 10 years ago my pressure was 130/90 and I and my doctor decided to start on low dosage of medication to get it to 110/70, which I’m successfully maintaining now. Good luck trying to explain it to the idiot managing the dive! He will offer you a lecture about medications and affect they might have under water, the subject he’s obviously has no clue about. Let me add that we’re talking about “discover diving” tour (no certification and no any credit towards certification), not some serious dive in the middle of the ocean. We picked that tour, so on my birthday me and my two kids (14 and 16) can have some fun together. Don’t get me wrong, I understand, rules are rules, and I wouldn’t mind to find some compromise. All I was looking for at that point was to have a normal conversation about the options. But the initiative was coming from me, not from the staff. I offered to call my doctor; I asked if my wife (Medical Doctor by the way) could sign a waiver or something. I was ready to fill another waiver to take any responsibility. Nothing was getting thru. And a tone! You wouldn’t believe it, like I was trying to sneak in some heroin thru customs. Then I realized what was behind it. Get this; they said they would refund the price of my ticket, but not my kids’. I was stunned!!! They would let two minors to go without an adult supervision and won’t let 41 years old 5’8’’ 175 lbs healthy and well trained individual to go on this tour. Get the picture? Thanks god I got that tour thru Carnival Cruise, so they actually stepped in and tried to resolve the issue by substituting the dive for a snorkeling tour. Our day was already ruined and my kids didn’t want to go, but we agreed not to let this incident to screw up our all day together and agreed to go anyway. So, as I am filling yet another waiver that idiot comes in (I am using “idiot” as a substitute for a stronger word that he definitely deserves!) and drops another perfect remark: “Don’t screw up the fun for other 26 people on the boat”. Just like that, no please, no sorry for what happened. I was so tired of this and disappointed that all I said was “whatever” (quietly and politely by the way). That was it, “you are not going on MY boat”. Now I got the whole picture, dude is obviously compensating for something. That’s HIS boat! And he’s obviously wanted to let everyone to know that. I was googling later about that business and was really surprised that it exists since 1957, but then I read that it is under new management since 2008, probably not for long. Also, as I read the reviews, I noticed that people are complaining about overcharging and some other ridiculous stuff, just read more before you decide to go with them. There are other companies on Catalina Island; this one is one of the worst.
Pros: no pros
Cons: just plain horrible
