Doug is a reliable pet/house sitter. We have been using him for many years and would not feel good leaving our cats in any other person's care. He is always available and knowing he is watching our pets makes our travels easier. I would recommend Doug to any of my friends or family. more

I think we first me Doug when we lived in Pacific Ranch back in 1990. We had two different cats back then & they just loved to see him walk in the door! We now have two different cats & seem to be as happy to see him as they do us. We still use Doug almost on a monthly basis when we enjoy ourselves in some local State/Regional Campground in our RV. He not only visits the cats & takes care of their needs, plus cleans up after them when needed, but also brings in our mail, turns different lights on each night, & waters my wife's precious plants. One time he went WAY beyond the call of duty & faxed us a Dine Out coupon to us in Hawaii that we had forgot to bring with us that reduced our two week condo cost in half. WHAT A LIFE SAVER!! He has ALWAYS been Very professional, friendly & thorough & we have referred him to MANY of our friends. Thanks Doug for always being there for us! The Wards more

I live in the Californian apartments in Huntington Beach, and am usually away on business leave or vacation. Doug looks after my house and 120 lb. chocolate lab, Max, while I'm away. Every time I come home, my house and my dog are as happy as I left it. Doug keeps in contact to let me know the status, which is above and beyond anything I asked for. My encounters with him have been warm and pleasant. For the past 4 years he has been watching what's dearest to me, he has exceeded every expectation, and I will keep him as long as possible. Oh Leslie.....why didn't you get an earlier flight then???? Why didn't you just kick him to the curb after the medicine count??? Come on now! BTW- It was raining:)...and you didn't seem to mention YOUR dog issue as well. Sorry for the loss of your cat....but don't blame others when it is YOUR responsibility! Nothing was confusing about it...except for the way you handled the situation! Doug has been just awesome! I moved into the Californian apts just about a year ago. My first day he introduced himself to me and his pet sitting service. When I spoke to the leasing office even they recommended Doug and had nothing but great things to say about him. Fellow neighbors were bragging so I figured I would give him a chance. I work in the medical field on-call everyday and am always on the road so this was a relief to have him right next door and always available to watch out for my dog Abbey (Lab, 16 months) and my kitty Malu (20 months). I can call him sometimes with 5 minutes notice and he has always been just excellent in going over to my place and helping out! He has a key to my place and nothing has ever been touched or tampered with!!! He gives me detailed reports on whether or not Abbey went to the bathroom and how much.....kinda funny but I would always rather know then not:) He will take Abbey to the park for a walk or sit inside with her inside if I have been gone all day long. He has always asked to leave a light on for her at night and offers to feed them both when I cannot make it home early enough. Doug has been a blessing!!! I appreciate everything he has done for me and my pets. Abbey runs up to him wagging her tail so hard every time she sees him. He has made a strong impact on me and my pets!!!!!!!! I recommend Doug to everyone and anyone looking for a responsible caring pet sitter! THANK YOU SO MUCH DOUG!!!!! more

Friends, please, beware. Ths man lost our beloved family cat. Not only did he lock her outside overnight (a declawed, strictly indoors cat), but when he realized it, he said he couldn't look for her because he didn't have a flashlight. Our neighborhood has coyotes, and he knew that. The next day, he was ""too busy"" to look for her, and 48 hours later, he still hadn't notified our family that she was missing. From 5000 miles away, we felt helpless. We asked him to PLEASE keep the patio door open so she could come back in, and, to put up flyers. My son arrived unannounced eight hours later to find the patio door locked, and no flyers up although I had designed and emailed one to him and he had promised to put them up after it ""stopped raining."" We later learned from neighbors that it had not been raining. Other excuses included that he was ""overwhelmed"" and ""confused"" because of all the pets under his care, that he didn't have thumb tacks or tape to put the flyers up, and that our cat was ""probably locked in a closet"" (he said this nonchalantly after she had been missing four days and needed meds. Besides the negligence, we never an apology. In fact, he's let us know that he ""talked to someone"" and is taking no responsibility for the loss of our beloved pet, although he advertises as a professional pet sitter and we paid him to keep our pets safe. Several weeks earlier, he failed to give meds to our other cat (we counted the pills -- he admitted it when confronted). We learned he is not bonded, nor is his business insured. We should have checked him out more throughly. We are destroyed over this senseless loss due to this man's negligence. Please don't make the same mistake we did. more
