New Ownership Not So Good 1/13/2011

I was a regular customer there for years and when they went under new ownership, didn't think much of it. I didn't know how they could improve the quality of food, service or the warmness of the wait staff. I was in for a rude surprise. The food quality isn't the same - it's not bad but there's a difference I can't quite place my finger on. The menu hasn't changed basically but some of their offerings have lost some of it's unique flavors that made this restaurant stand out originally. As far as the wait staff - what wait staff is everyone talking about? Everyone time I've returned in the past 6 months, there's only one woman who waits tables. Granted I usually go there on week days and for lunch on Saturdays so perhaps there is an actual wait staff in the evenings. However if you go there for lunch on any day, be prepared for lousy service. I don't know why there is only one person waiting on the entire restaurant during the day but apart from standing on the table to get her attention, you will remain at your table for some time before she looks over in your direction. There was a slight increase in prices and the portions have been slightly reduced but it's not a big deal unless you want a lot for your money. All in all, it's an okay place to go but it's not the same atmosphere it used to be. more

WOW 7/1/2010

I just recently went to Caspian and was shocked. They have new owners who have updated the place including the buffet. The lunch buffet is from 11:30 ? 2:30 M-F and a great price of only $10.95 for what they have on it. They have Kookoo Sabzi, Koufteh, Cutlet, Cabbage Dolmeh along with Grape leaf Dolmeh,Tahdig, homemade potatoe salad with chicken and of course the usual white rice and a mixed rice, Koobideh Kabob, Caspian Chicken Kabob, Khoresht?e (Stews) Ghormeh Sabzi, Ghaimeh or Badenjan, Must?o?Khiar, and Hummus along with fruit, salad and cookies. Now they are back open on Mondays with M-Thurs weekly summertime dinner specials. WOW they serve beer and wine too. Thanks Caspian for making this place a Persian restaurant again. I will defiantly see you again. Pros: Great Weekday Buffet, and Weekly Summer Dinner Specials more

The Prince of Persia,in Persian Restaurants 5/29/2010

It is now under new ownership which is good This is by far one of the Best Persian restaurants ever. I have been to some of the best in the world from Beverly Hills,London,Washington D.C& San Francisco but this is the winner. The Owner Al is hands on visiting every table service is fantastic and the best the authentic Persian Food. The appetizers from the authentic hummus,Babaganoush are fresh and flavorful. The main courses of Kebabs are well marinated (17 hours) grilled& healthy. I would recommend the Filet (Barg) very lean and tasty, the (Koobedeh) Angus is so soft you can cut it with your fork, the Chicken Kebab is als well marinated & tender it melts in your mouth & can be cut with your fork ! All the entree's come with Lavash bread or basmati long grain rice mixed with Dill, spinach,Berberry's (sour taste) cranberry's or parsley. There are authentic Persian green tea or Dough (yogurt butter milk) to water, beer and wine. The Desserts are also great and authentic Baklava, Persian Cookies, Persian Pistachio ice cream made with rose water, pistachios& cardamon or a froozen Vermicelli (Faloodeh) with different toppings like strawberry,Lemon,Rose water (my favorite) or cranberry. The lunch buffet is also great at $10 per person, a South Florida treasure and healthy eat. Pros: High quality Food& Service,New ownership Cons: none ! more

Go at your own risk 1/18/2009

I went here a few times while visiting south Florida. I didn't want to write a review based on one visit alone. The food here is okay; it's edible. Service, however, is horrible especially when they are busy, which is most of the time. Expect to get completely ignored by the server and after ordering, expect to have to wait 60 minutes for your meal; that is if you're lucky, otherwise it's more like 75 minutes. more

Shafted. Save your money. 11/17/2008

Being an easy person to please I'm really disappointed with Caspian. I called in my order and took time to let the lady know what I wanted. Sadly the order was still wrong and twice the price quoted to me. . Save your money. Go to a place where they know their food, take pride in it, and want your business rather than just your money. Pros: Persian food, always comforting Cons: High price, poor service and understanding of their own food. BAD. more
