We happened upon Cascal one Christmas Eve when everything else was closed. The hostess rolled her eyes with an exasperated sigh when we answered ""no, we don't have reservations....

Great, Reliable Support 1/23/2012

Every little thing was done skillfully and the care and the attention taken with my possessions is unsurpassed and drastically appreciated. The mover was completely honest, cautious and reliable. I am so pleased I chose MSA Moving Company and will definitely suggest every possibility I have. more

fun place for drinks, snacks, or a pricey dinner 3/3/2010

it's a cool place - perhaps one of the more hip in mountain view, and it offers a good variety of food. the chocolate souffle dessert is one of my faves. good live music and a nice happy hour that offers affordable drinks and appetizers. Pros: good food, nice ambiance, affordable happy hour, dessert Cons: a bit pricey if you come hungry or thirsty more

Live Music 5/18/2009

I have both eaten dinner at Cascal and gone there specifically for the music and the people. The music is very diverse and seems to attract a crowd of all ages and cultures. The atmosphere is modern and yet beautifully cultural. The staff is always friendly and quick. I have been here many times and have never left unhappy. I highly recommend the food and the music. more

Great Tapas 9/25/2008

I've been there twice and both times were great. I love the idea of order dishes and sharing it means you get a lot more variety. I loved the Ceviche and my husband likes the Beef Adobo Shortrib. \r \r This is a fun place to take friends. We will be going back again for sure. more

Disgusting 7/7/2008

I went there once, and it was some of the worst food I've ever had. The gazpacho was disgusting, so bad that I had them take it back, and I've never had to do that before. We sampled many dishes, and all of it was disappointing. We talked to the couple next to us and they didn't like what they ordered either. The servings are very small and expensive. I've had good tapas before, and this was not it. more

Fun atmoshere, excellent food, friendly service. 2/12/2008

I went to Cascal on a first date and things couldn't have been any better. With our reservation, we were seated immediately. The bar was very crowded (where I was waiting for my date to arrive) but I still was served a drink within seconds of standing in the crowd. Impressive! After ordering, our food came quickly, but it wouldn't have mattered anyway because the atmoshere was so fun. Live Latin Jazz! Everything I tasted was exquisite including the Sangria. We ended up going back to Cascal on our second date with friends for drinks, and danced to the great music. So much fun, a must in Mountain View. I can't wait to go back again. Pros: Food, Service, Atmosphere Cons: Noisy more

Great food, location and atmosphere 5/16/2007

Very good dinner choice! The menu includes among others Spanish and Cuban specialties. The service is (most of the times) great. Try to avoid showing up without a reservation, or your wait will be utterly long; unless it is rather early, in which case you may be lucky and get a table. I'd say more, but you better go and see for yourself... bon appetite!! Pros: Life music, warm ambience, nice outdoor patio more

2nd time is a charm 12/2/2006

when Cascal first opened, my boyfirend and I were excited about a tapas place in our neighborhood. The interior is nice, inviting, and comfy. The service was good, Sangria great. The food, though, left much to be desired. My squid ink paella was dry and burnt, the tapas (obviously forgetful) left much to be desired. Pros: Sangria, improved food, great atmosphere Cons: Long waits more

Great Cocktails Great Music 11/11/2006

Great Music,Great Sangria I had a great time! My girlfriend and I went on a Saturday night. We had a few cocktails shared some appetizers and danced the night away! Pros: Great Atmosphere Cons: Very crowded Hard to find a seat at the Bar more

Good Sangria! 11/3/2006

The food was pretty good and surprisingly filling. We ordered the tapas sampler (nice assortment of tapas dishes, a lot of seafood), corn soup, and wild mushroom empanadas. The soup was the biggest disappointment... it had an anise flavor that just didn't work with corn. And it came in a tiny bowl/shallow dish for $7.50! Although, because it tasted bad, we were glad that the dish was small. The wild mushroom empanadas had a strange sour flavor, not sure if it was from the mushrooms or cheese, but in the end, it wasn't something that I'd rave about. The sangria was very fruity and sweet, a good choice. On the Friday night that we went, there was a live band (great music!) so it was difficult to have conversation, but overall, it felt really fun and lively. I would definitely go again to try other dishes, like the paella. Pros: Lively ambience, good sangria Cons: a little too loud more
