The food here is great. The drinks are good too. Nice place for good Mexican food in a dimly lit restaurant with great atmosphere. I love this place. Only downside, sometimes ther...

Worst

ths bar is always too crowded, and it's a pick-up joint, in my opinion. the enchiladas are great, i'll say that! but that's about it. the drinks are waaaaaaaayyyy too strong, they...

Favorite place to eat! 1/7/2011

My absolute favorite place for Mexican food. The Tostada Chickita is the best salad ever... always great with the combo or lobster enchiladas. more

GREAT! 1/3/2011

Best Mexican in the area. Went on a weekend night and the place was packed. We arrived around 830pm and stood outside for 5 minutes for a spot in the bar area. We then ordered a couple of delicious margaritas (sweet and strong) while we waited 40 minutes to be seated at a table. Sat a cozy corner booth. Served chips and salsa and little taquitos immediately upon sitting down. Our drinks were refilled and our order was taken shortly thereafter. Restaurant was loud but I was still able to hear everyone around me talk. Lithing was low but not so dark that I could not see my menu. Ordered the veggie burrito and my friend ordered a salad. Both great, so good that I went back later that week for a friends birthday. This time we went on a week night and were seated immediately. It was less noisy and the food was just as good. This will be a new frequent stop for me. more

Wonderful 12/29/2010

We live within walking distance of this restaurant and any time people want to get together even if we suggest at their house -- they want to go with us to Casa Vega. It has great food, fast service and tasty margaritas. It's very dark inside and there's always a hour+ wait on weekend nights. But it is a valley landmark, a place that some people know outside of L.A. The food comes to you quickly -- always a gasp how fast it is. It's tasty and the portions are big. I've had more than 20 meals here and never been disappointed. We've been there with kids and because it's relatively loud, it's not a problem -- they're used it. I even order takeout. more

ALL POSITIVE 12/21/2010

Excellent, authentic Mexican food. I had the carnitas de puerco, they were juicy and moist. The tortilla soup was amazing and the corn tortillas were absolutely perfect. Great service, even better margaritas. I enjoyed the ambiance, dimly lit, vibrant energy, crowded bar, lots of chatter. All of the positive reviews you may have heard about Casa Vega are true, I'm glad to have checked it out and anytime the opportunity presents itself I will be glad to return and try some different dishes. more

awesome cadillac margaritas 12/8/2010

Big fan of the CASA VEGA. Its one of those places that can floor you with the chips and salsa before the main course even arrives! Kind of a wait usually, but really good for late night Mexican cravings. Plus awesome cadillac margaritas. more

Mood, food, service, price - what's not to like? 12/7/2010

Mood, food, service, price - what's not to like? I've never waited the extortionate guesstimate they give you at the door for your table - if they say 40 minutes you'll be seated in 12. The ambience and the really solid fare you get at this place is worth a short wait, and you can always order up a margarita and see who you can find to amuse yourself with at the bar. Have one of the pre-set entrees and take your pick of albondigas (yum) or the house salad (newly resized to a more app friendly amount) and you won't be sorry. more

all worth while 12/6/2010

I grew up in the hood and have been going here for 30+ years, before it turned into a "nightclub". Bottom line: Beer, Tequila and the best cheese enchiladas and beef tacos in the land. The rice and beans beat out all the rest and the secret weapon is the Tostada Chiquita!!! Get that before the combo arrives it's truly the unsung hero of the menu and there's nothing like it anywhere. So what if a taco/enchilada combo costs $37.50, it comes with the tostada chiquita making it all worth while. more

Full of Life 11/22/2010

I have drunk a lot of different kinds of margarita's from here to Puerto Vallarta and this one was by far the best. The food is delicious, but really expensive for Mexican food, but whatever, I love this place, it’s always packed and full of life. Keep up the good work CASA VEGA YOU ROCK!!!!! more

remained the same 11/18/2010

Been going here since I was a youngin'. A lot of things have changed, like the addition of the annoying buzzer-thing, but the tasty enchiladas have remained the same. Same thing with the chips and salsa. That's all I really care about. more
