Casa Vega Restaurant

My first impression of this place was a very very good impression indeed. There is nothing negative I can say about this place. more

I love going to Casa Vega for lunch or dinner. I have been a fan for many years and always think of Casa Vega first when I think of Mexican restaurants, Sometimes it takes time to get seated when they are busy, but you can either wait at the bar and have a drink or sit outside in the newly done waiting area. The food is not the best Mexican food I have ever had, but it is much better than any other fast food place. My favorite in the carne asada green burrito dinner. It comes with a delicious tostada salad. Casa Vega is a really nice place to go . more

A staple in the valley, I was really excited to try it. Unfortunately it came up short. I base this review solely on service and food. I would give this place for 4 stars for ambiance alone. This place has definitely got that mexican feel to it. more

I received the chips and salsa (which was pretty good) and water pretty quickly and then my waiter came to take my order. The drinks are pretty good (they dont skip on the liquor), so no complaints there. I ordered the sonora tacos and the salad. First the salad came out and it was pretty good, it basically a salad on top of a tostado shell, but it was tasty. more

"Pricing is on the high side here, but the food is soooo good! As a fan of Jeff Lewis, we had to go check it out since we were passing through town. We arrived before the dinner rush and didn't want to pay for valet parking, so we parked along the adjacent street where there was plenty of on-street parking. We were placed in a corner booth facing out, and were seated immediately. The ambiance is very dark at Casa Vega, which I found odd since the decor is also pretty dark. Just makes for a really dark experience! Anyhow, we ordered the vegetarian Mexican pizza and a mango margarita, and split both. I've had a LOT of Mexican pizzas, and can honestly say that this was among the best! The soy sausage product they used tasted so good! We probably wouldn't return for a full meal just because it's a bit pricey, and if I'm going to spend $50 for two of us, I'd rather opt for Asian food of some sort. However, we would definitely return again (if we were passing through again) to order something minimal. It's just worth checking out the door that Jeff brought in, and snapping a photo of the remodeled foyer, while appreciating the old Hollywood feel of the place. Nice time!" more

The bartenders are really cool cats that create a little more atmosphere with great stories, magic tricks and strong drinks (the Cadillac, double Patron marg was great, but pricey; $16). more

Was there early to get a good seat at the bar for the 1st game of the NBA Finals. Friendly people all over the place, everyone is mingling and having a great time... No one seemed to have attitude and groups overlap in conversation. All sorts of characters from musicians to models types to old movie producers were hanging around having some drunk fun. more

i'd be found there 5 days a week. Great food, awesome drinks, and best night out of the week is like Sunday's... It's always packed, and food is always served.. more

Its one of those places that can floor you with the chips and salsa before the main course even arrives! more

Been going here since I was a youngin'. A lot of things have changed, like the addition of the annoying buzzer-thing, but the tasty enchiladas have remained the same. Same thing with the chips and salsa. That's all I really care about. more

I have been coming here for 22 years and love it. While it's not the best mexican food, they do serve up tasty dishes. Their salsa and house tostadas are my personal favorites. And I can't forget to mention their awesome Margaritas. more

If you're in the area and want the authentic Mexican experience... This is it! When I say authentic I'm not talkin a truck or some hole in the wall. This place is a piece of history. It's like being in a movie, the food, service, ambiance... Excellent!!! more

Let me just say this, I'm really not a fan of Mexican food. In fact, you could even say that I strongly dislike it. The mere thought of how burritos are made and eaten gross me out. It's just a glob of crap mixed together in a tortilla. EEW!!! But hey, that's just me. Nevertheless, Casa Vega has surprisingly impressed me beyond belief and has got me to recommend it to all my friends and even my fellow yelpers. This place definitely deserves 5 stars for being able to convince an anti-mexican food eater to love the food and come back for seconds. Just a peek...vegetables pizza, lobster quesadillas, shrimp cocktails, and lobster enchiladas................holy crap. more
