Editorial review from Citysearch 2/5/2013

Hi, I graduated from Cary Ballet 2.5 years ago and now I'm a dance major and professional trainee at Ballet West in Utah. I feel compelled to tell people about my fortunate experience growing up as a young dancer at Cary Ballet.\r \r The teachers are some of the best in the world and they put their hearts into the students. When you are there you feel like a family and I am still best friends with all my CBC friends.\r \r You learn so much more than just dance and when I got to college I was so ready because I was experienced with having different teachers and styles to challenge me.\r \r My professors said I had excellent training and I got to do lead parts even though I was only a freshman.\r \r There is no other place I would have rather spent my childhood. I'm so grateful to my teachers, my friends and everyone from my Cary Ballet family for making me who I am. \r \r To me, CBC is the best dance school in the world! more

More than just a dance school! 3/16/2012

Cary Ballet Conservatory has been my daughters second home for the past four years. She loves being there and I can't think of a better place for any young adolescent to learn and grow. I always feel safe dropping her off because the ladies in the office are also moms and look out for the girls. There is a warm family atmosphere with genuine caring people. I have never experienced the cattiness between the girls or the moms like you see in other studios. My daughters best friends are at CBC and they all support each other and share their love of dance. The gentle discipline and manners they instill carries over into other areas. Those girls do exceptionally well in school and in social settings. The teachers are highly trained professionals, yet they are also great role models and care deeply for their students. They build them up to feel good about themselves and have the confidence to be their best. It's unlikely that my daughter will become a professional ballerina. However, she still wants to be taken seriously and study ballet at the highest level, the way ballet is supposed to be taught. She would not be happy in a typical dance studio twirling around without accomplishing anything. Ballet will probably always be a healthy part of her life and it's such a joy for her to advance in this beautiful art form. At CBC they do it right. I am one of many grateful parents there! more

Great dance school, but awful office staff 2/2/2012

My daughter's have danced at Cary Ballet for 6 years in all. The dance instruction is wonderful and the teachers are really top notch. I would give this school a perfect rating except for the office staff. They are just rude and crotchety in general. I have talked to many other mothers who feel the same way. I really find it off putting to go in to pay my tuition or to ask a question only to have one of the women in the office respond to me rudely. I really can't see a reason for it. If my daughter's didn't love it so much and if I didn't feel that what they are learning is the best, I would move them someplace else just so that I don't have to put up with that on a regular basis. more

A Love for Learning 11/1/2011

My daughter is in her second year at Cary Ballet. We were referred to Cary Ballet by a friend who's daughter has danced there for years. We started by signing up for a summer class just to try things out. That was the perfect way to get a taste of the studio and let my daughter decide if she enjoyed dance. Two years later, we could not imagine her life without dance.\r As a mom, I appreciate the caring attitude of the teachers. They are firm with the girls to ensure that they learn, but they teach with their hearts and love their dancers. I love that they use ""older girls' as teacher assistants in the classes. These girls become role models and leaders to the younger generation of dancers. They also ensure that the student to teacher ratio stays low and the girls get individual attention each class.\r I cannot say enough about Cary Ballet. They provide an organized, well-rounded experience for their students. If you are not ready to sign up for dance, be sure to check out one of their productions. I promise it is not the childhood dance recital you might remember! more

Great Experience for all 10/26/2011

Since my daughter began classes in August she has been showing us all she has learned...a big deal for a four year old! She has taken dance previously at a smaller studio closer to home for two years and what she has learned at CBC has been amazing! She is so excited for class each week and I am so excited to feel comfortable with the staff. The facilities are amazing, the staff is very friendly and what my daughter has leaned in a few short weeks is amazing! I was hesitant at first about the drive and what the cost might be since it is a very professional environment. I am happy to say that the drive could be one hour and I would still take her each week! And the price is in line with what we payed for at our previous location (and of course now we have the added benefit of a more professional environment and our daughter is learning by leaps and bounds)! I would recommend CBC to anyone who is looking for a studio where the staff is knowledgeable and friendly, kids have fun and learn and the parents can feel comfortable with the whole experience! more

Through the Dancer's Eye 10/21/2011

I have been dancing at Cary Ballet Conservatory (CBC) since I was four years old. They have wonderful facilities, a friendly and helpful office staff, and wonderful teachers who encourage you, help you and sometimes give you the well needed push to be the best you can be. \r Cary Ballet provides opportunities for their dancers to work with great master teachers in settings such as intensive workshops, master classes, and choreography. Some of these teachers include Alex Wong, Eddy Ocampo, Mariaelena Ruiz, Susan Quinn and many more! Everyone at Cary Ballet is looking for new ways to make their dancers the best. \r In addition to excellent dance training, I met some of my closest and oldest friends at Cary Ballet. I am still in contact with several friends I met my first year of dance! This is due to the fact that Cary Ballet has such a great family atmosphere. New dancers and their families are always quickly accepted into the Cary Ballet family. I could not think of a better place to have spent the past 11 years and counting! more

Best Dance Studio 10/19/2011

I have to say that the Cary Ballet Conservatory is the best. My daughter has been taking ballet for a year now and absolutely loves her teachers and the school. The spring recital was very well done, well organized and such a memorable experience for our family. I love that they offer different types of dance and the sense of community there with all of the dancers of all ages is really nice. I should add that while I'm waiting for her, the facility is very clean and comfortable with internet access and a small cafe and outdoor areas. We are grateful to have such a nice dance studio for our daughter. more

Best Ballet School in Town! 10/18/2011

Our family moved into the area about 4 years ago, and we visited several different dance studios in search for a ballet school for our daughter. None of them could be compared to what we found at Cary Ballet. The facilities are clean and beautiful, the location is ideal and the staff is friendly and professional. Our daughter is now in her 4th year at Cary Ballet, and looks forward to her ballet class every week. Moreover, her teachers have inspired her so much so that she loves dancing and demonstrating her dance techniques at home. more

Great place! 3/26/2011

Our family moved to N. Raleigh this past summer and we checked out lots of studios. My oldest daughter is 14 and was very involved in dance in Michigan, so we wanted to find the best place to help her transition. Her teachers back home highly recommended Cary Ballet Conservatory, but we wanted to see if there was anything good closer to N. Raleigh. Well, after much frustration at other places we finally made our way to Cary and I have to say that Cary Ballet Conservatory's reputation is well deserved. My oldest daughter immediately felt at home and positively challenged by the warm, friendly staff. All the other students were so sweet to her and welcomed her right into their circle. Everyone there is very happy and I have made some great new friends too. My daughter feels like she is learning so much and we have seen such a difference in her level already. She has 3 different teachers and loves them all. Two of her friends from Michigan are coming this summer to visit us and dance at Cary Ballet's summer workshop. My younger 9 year old daughter is a ham and likes jazz and tap better than ballet. We were surprised to learn that Cary Ballet Conservatory also has an incredible jazz and tap side too. The students are really great dancers and both my girls are having so much fun that they can't wait to go! They had a demonstration for the parents at the studio and my husband was blown away. We're very lucky to have such a high quality conservatory within driving distance and happy to make the drive to Cary 3 days a week for the wonderful experience our daughters are having. more

Excellence in dance training 9/9/2009

My daughter began dancing with Cary Ballet Conservatory back in 1995 when she was 4. This is an excellent pre-professional dance school instructing students with a focus on the highest caliber dance and offering caring, loving and nurturing teachers. \r \r Very special mention goes to one of my daughter's teachers, Darra Gasper. She has served as a trusted and inspiring mentor to our daughter. Ms. Gasper has set an invaluable example for all her students to strive for excellence in dance. My daughter is currently a pre-professional dancer at the college level, attending University of Arizona's prestigious School of Dance. \r \r Our most sincere gratitude is extended to every one of CBC's excellent dance instructors. \r Pros: high quality instructors more
