Dr Carter is the most caring and professional OBGYN I have ever seen in my life. His staff was also amazing. I was really nervous to see my first male OBGYN. He spent a solid 20 minutes just talking to me and my husband before the exam. I don't want to get into anything negative but my old doctor missed the fact that I had an 11.5 cm dermoid cyst in my ovary which could have ruptured. Dr Carter is so calm and comforting but when he discovered this he became very serious. Within two weeks he had me in the OR fixing a very serious problem that should have been taken care of a year prior. His nurse Virginia was so comforting and sweet and his receptionist Erica jumped through hoops to help us deal with complicated insurance issues to make the surgery happen right away. The surgery was a total success, six weeks out the 4-5"" scar is barely visible and I am totally healed and still fertile! He even came back to visit me in the hospital during my recovery to make sure I was alright. I trust this man with my life and the lives of my future children. Besides my scary situation, this was also the quickest and most gentle exam I have ever experienced. I hardly even felt the PAP. He took the time to answer every question I asked him and not only really cares about his patients but is an incredible and knowledgeable OBYGN and surgeon. Dr. Carter was my OB/GYN for my second pregnancy and delivered my son via a planned c-section (had one previous c-section not by Dr. Carter). The entire process was perfect?..from my first appointment down to the day he released me from Cedars. All in all you will receive great care and your questions will be answered. The only bad thing I have to say is long office wait times and there were times I would call the office and leave a message with a question and didn?t hear back from anyone. BUT, if you call have Dr. Carter he WILL call you back right away. So, you will receive great care from the doctor?s office to the hospital. He also circumcised my son and his incision turned out perfect. Pros: Very intelligent; everything turned out perfect; great office staff Cons: long office waits more

I got his name through my insurance carrier and I'm so lucky! He spent over an hour with me on my first visit and it was only for a physical. I have finally found the perfect doctor. He is gentle, intelligent and a good listener. I highly recommend him to anyone! Pros: Great guy, good parking, & you can eat at Hamburger Hamlet when you're done! Dr. Carter was my OB for my first pregnancy, every visit, and especially the delivery was perfect ALL because of him and his staff. He is professional, kind, and excellent at his job. The office, the patient rooms, the staff is all great! Cons: none! more

I have been a patient of Dr. Carter's for about 15 years. My mother and sister are patients of his, as well. He is, as the other reviews state, caring, compassionate, gentle, and genuine. I drive from the West Valley to his office on Sunset and Doheney to continue being his patient. I have changed my primary care physician several times over the years to be able to stay with whatever group he is in. more

I found Dr. Carter from a referral from my medical insuror and I mostly chose him because his office is within walking distance of my office. What a lovely surprise to find him to be a very warm, friendly and down-to-earth doctor, with a patient, efficient staff. Several of the patients I encountered in the waiting room mentioned their loyalty to Dr. Carter and I even met a mother/daughter pair who were two generations of satisfied patients. Nice offices overlooking the Sunset strip. I'd recommend him even if you *aren't* within walking distance of his office. Pros: Down to earth, friendly and knowledgable Cons: none, really. more
