Carrington College

First things first.....please disregard these other reviews....I am attending Carrington in the Medical Assistant Program and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM! The staff has gone far and beyond in my enrollment, helping and advising with personal problems as well! The instructors are VERY educated in their fields. Yes, you have to be there every day! Yes, you must dedicate yourself 100 %!! And yes, it is extremely fast paced. But even if you fall behind or have difficulties the instructors will do everything in their power to help and tutoring programs are available. As far as the equipment and training, it is all up to date and top of the line. I RECOMMEND YOU COME CHECK IT OUT FOR YOURSELF AND MEET ""ALL OF US"" .........and on your tour ask the students what they think! ---from a future Carrington graduate and enthusiastic student :) more

So I decided to go to carrington college and it sounded great. I joined the Massage therapy program and found out later that my instructer knew nothing and favored students while the next one hated everyone and told everyone who told on the cheaters. I get down to clinic and catch a bad cold my doctor doesnt want me to go in for two days so I call and leave a message at the clinic and with the massage administrator and say to cancell my appts for the next two days cuz i cant come in. The following night i get 5 frantic calls from her asking where I am and that my msg only said 24hrs. MY ASS! I am so furious! never will I recommend anyone go there! more

I had gone thru the radiology program and boy did I make a mistake picking this college. When you are doing the interview to be in the program you are told lots of influential material, such as there are lots of local clinical sites. Well that is a lie there are two local sites and all the other sites are constantly being lost. The instructors are all good asides from one. There is one instructor in this college that you should avoid at all possible costs. Michael Scally is a procedures instructor; he is completely infantile and unprofessional. He has had several sexual harassment charges filed on him, one in particular was when we where in class he came up to a class student and grabbed his chest and then started giggling like a 2 year old. Then he started hawking loogies in class. My time in his class had been horrible; he does not know how to teach. Lectures on one thing then tell you to study another thing then the test is on total bull for which he claims is critical thinking, but yet every option has a possibility of being true. We spent more time arguing in class about questions that he had chosen for the test. We had a final which was 200 questions of all impossible ""critical thinking questions"" of which most of the class did horrible and where guessing on the questions. His reviews for test are hilarious too, he opens up the book tells you to pay attention to this page then look at that page. But when the test comes he puts questions on there that he had written which where complete bull, and had not been taught or gone over. In conclusion you would be better off go somewhere else than in Carrington, you would be done in a little longer time and less money spent. But if you do decide to go thru this program there are plus sides where its fast to go thru, but at all cost avoid taking any classes with Michael Scally. Rather wait for the next class to go with different instructors. All the other instructors are bearable but this one is just impossible to deal with and a stubborn 2 year old that has to have it his way. He talked about him being on probation and he was fired from his job, he can not find another job, no one in the world can bare his idiotic behavior. My two cents is avoid this Michael Scally at all costs, in the long run you would be happier avoiding him. more

RUN!!! Seriously, if you are thinking about starting the dental assisting program it would be well worth the wait and money to go to the community college. Before graduating from the DA program at Apollo (""lol Carrington College, what a joke...), I had several teachers. Each one WORSE than the one before. The program director did very little to make sure the teachers gave us information and skills that would actually be useful in the feild. The equipment was out dated. They didnt want us using materials (that we pay sooo much for) because the said, ""this material is very expensive and we have to make sure ... it lasts"" Most the materials were expired an didnt work properly. This didnt provide us with the know how to use them. The result of that was looking really foolish at your exturn. We got into trouble like a child if we said anything ""bad"" (truthful) about the school not teaching this or that. The school would rather YOU the student (Who is looking for employment and whose paying their nice salary) look like an idiot! Further, there is no dentist on site, which means you can only practice X rays on a dummy. lol Best f luck to any DA who chooses to go to the basement quality school... if you can even call it that! more
