peaches 8/22/2011

Good: selection of fruits and vegetables. Bad: California peaches. Improvements: Obviously, someone didn't taste the peaches before selecting them for market.. Other: My wife and I make jam with some of the fruit when it is priced well and canning as well. We set the case of peaches in the refrigerator for a few days to soften. When we started blanching the fruit to remove the skin we found the peach meat was dry and pithy. It didn't work out. They were stringy. We brought the bag of prepared peaches to the manager and he could care less. A lousy $20 box of peaches that, if replaced, would have kept our $500 a year business. Too bad, huh!. more

Well worth checking out 10/17/2007

My family and I were excited to discover this little gem of a market in Kent. We live 15 mins. away in Covington and take every opportunity to stop by Carpinito's whenever we're passing through or in the area. They have wonderful seasonal vegetables and plants. The staff are friendly and eager to help and answer any questions. Yeah, I agree that parking can be improved. more

nice farmers market 9/19/2007

My family and I go there for produce in the Spring and Summer, pumpkins in the Fall, and Christmas trees and poinsettias in the Winter. We live very close, the prices are great, and we love supporting our local farmers. Yes the parking sucks, as well as getting out of the parking lot, but as the saying goes "Don't sweat the small stuff" more

Great place for bark, great nursery 4/29/2006

Carpinito's has an excellent reputation amongst gardeners and the locals. These are the people with the bark hills that you can see from 167. They have fabulous beauty bark. My old neighbors and I took my minivan down there one spring day and came back with 28 of those HUGE bags of beauty bark. Great deal too, if you buy it directly from them instead of from one of the several grocery stores that they supply. They have a great variety of veggies during the summer months at great deals. They are not organic though...which is the only bummer. They also operate the pumpkin patch and corn maze (one of the best ones by far!) off the 277th exit on highway 167 during the Fall. We come here every year to get our pumpkins, as it's so much fun for the kiddies. Carpinito Bros is terrific, and with their family service and unique, quality offerings, I'm always up for the drive here. And yes, the parking lot sucks! more

Nice plant nursery in Kent 3/2/2006

This place is a good size and things are pretty well organized. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I was pleased with the prices. The only bad thing I would say is that the parking lot isn't all that easy to get in/out of, and there isn't really a good load/unload zone. I don't know that I'd travel here from Seattle, but if you're in this general area, this is the place to go! more

Nursery with the best flowering baskets and supplies galore 8/23/2005

Carpinito Brothers Farms is just two blocks south of I-167 in Kent. What I most love about them is their healthy, bountiful baskets of flowers in spring, just in time for Mother's day. They have mountains of bark dust, inexpensive bagged manure, and carry my favorite brand of plastic hanging plant baskets that you can stuff yourself. They have tables of annuals and perennials and some of the more common trees and shrubs. They are well staffed with friendly help and keep late spring and summer hours. They allow you to take pickup loads but will also deliver landscape supplies. more

Great produce and more 8/2/2005

I go to Carpinito Bros produce market once a week when it opens in April to October. They have a wonderful selection of fruits and vegetables to choose from. The prices are amazing compared to what you get in the grocery store. The produce is of high quality with a flavor that is superior to any I get at the grocery store. They are also a nursery with a nice selection of trees and plants. They also sell bark for the garden. more

fun place to browse and shop 7/31/2005

Carpinito Brothers sells produce as well as plants. They have beautiful hanging baskets and all of their plants look healthy. The nursery prices are comparable to other places; their produce prices tend to be slightly better than you can find at the grocery store. They have lots of parking. It's also fun for kids to watch the machines moving around their huge piles of bark (which they sell) next to the market. . more
