Don't waste your time here 4/11/2006

Not at all impressed with this venue. Service was slow, management was rude, and food was mediocre. If you bring your own birthday cake the restaurant will surcharge you 2.00 per person fee and if you don't want this charge on your bill then the manager will sabatoge your cake. Our ice cream cake was brought out melted to the table. If you request seperate checks for a large party 20% gratuity will be added. The manager insulted my friend on her birthday and called her a ""ditzy blonde"" because she called him the wrong name accidentally. There are too many restaurants in Atlanta to waste your money and time at this one. Don't bother going here. more

Ahhhh 2/19/2006

My wife and I arrived for an early dinner. Only one other party was dining, but the hostess refused to seat us in the booth in case a larger party arrived (they had plenty of tables for larger parties). The ambiance was great, but the tables for two were tight. My wife loved her chocolate martini and ravioli with lobster sauce. My pork chop was overcooked and dry. Great Experience 1/17/2005

I went to a luncheon at Carpe Diem on Saturday. The atmosphere was GREAT! The food and service were wonderful, too. We had the brunch menu and everyone loved their food. The hostesses said the staff was VERY easy to work with and everything went smoothly. The private room at the front of the restaurant was perfect for special events, too. I highly recommend this restaurant. more

Really inconsistant food 4/30/2004

This place as amazing atmosphere, but the food was really bad. Appetrizers were good cheese plate and fries. But the portabello ravioli was awful. Just tasted like garlic, I mean really strong, and no other flavors at all. I've been here 3 times (for lunch and brunch) and have had great food every time! Service can be a little slow but has been very friendly. Decor is trendy and sunny, love eating there. The sandwiches are large, the brunch is a great alternative to the overcrowded usuals (flying b., cafe a go go, bluebird) although it opens at 11, sometimes too late when you're hungry. The food was great. I had the salmon, my husband the steak, and both were very flavorful and cooked perfectly. The wine list leaves something to be desired - it has little selection and not that great. Pros: Good food, Inexpensive Cons: Wine list more

In order to get her attention, I had to compete with the cigar she was smoking at the end of the bar with her friends. Service was very bad. Will try again, though. The service here was excellent, and the food presented very nicely. My husband and I had our Valentine's Day dinner here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It is also an excellent value. more

By far one of the best little hide aways in Atlanta. The prices are great. The food is more than edible and the atmosphere couldn't get any better. more
