I am sure many people start these reviews off with, ""I do not normally write reviews"", but I do not. Looking up the phone number I noticed the last reviewers comments about customer service and wanted to throw in my two-cents. Think ""soup-nazi"", of course Carol's bakers are not anything like that but you don't go there for the atmosphere. The little bakery sits in a back alley, behind and attached to a small house. There is a lot of old bakery equipment that had run out of life many years before. Low-light sets the mood for your other senses to shut down. Then, the sweet smell hits you. Like when we were children and went into the small town bakers shop. Pastries, cakes, and other assorted hand-made goods take your breath away. The people you speak with are actually the ones making the food, taking your money, and then going back to baking more heavenly goodness. There is little time to tickle your confidence. The staff are ""real"" bakers. They are not the hourly folks down at the local big-box store. THEY BAKE! and they do it quite well. My wife and I only buy from them 3 times per-year and it is part of our birthday present! The cake is as important as the very day I was born on. 14 years, 32 cakes (new family add-on 5 years ago), and lots of happy eating. So, go to Carol's Cakes, walk-in, pay your money, respect their time, and go and enjoy. bon appetit!
Pros: Best bakery in Utah.
Cons: None.
