Carmike Oakdale 20

Good: Nothing, really. Except when I left the theatre. I had to pick one star, but actually no stars is better.. Bad: Slow lines at concessions. Seemed understaffed. Game room noisy. Popcorn old and stale. Bleh. Sticky floors, bathrooms untidy.. Improvements: Change of attitude in employees, no smiles, it looked like no one was enjoying their job. A couple people were observing like they were management, yet doing nothing. Ticket lines could be faster as well. Who ever trains these people in should be fired. It seems if the employees aren't enjoying themselves, their must be a reason. Poor management? Let's get better people in here, maybe it would change. I've never seen employees who were more unhappy as I did that night.. Other: Employees could have a better attitude. I am in customer service and if I acted like that on the floor, I'm sure I'd be gone. Management must be lacking, poor customer service, popcorn was cold, nachos bland. They need to give these employees a raise for even wanting to work there. Very unpleasant atmosphere. Again, it looked like no one was enjoying their job. Our movie going experience was dreadful there. I'll go to another theatre if I have to travel. Something needs to b done here.. more

Unhelpful staff, rude people, tiny screens. This place has it all! They do have movies that few other places in Minneapolis are running, but the experience could be enhanced. Don't try to sit in the theatre before the message board tells you that it's safe. Instead, enjoy yourself in the loud and crowded game room area with the hundred or so other people who had the indecency to arrive at the theatre before. Go to Southdale instead. Much nicer place. more

I am impressed with how well groomed this theatre is. The staff are knowledgeable, and helpful especially for the handicap. The popcorn is always fresh. Clean, Clean, Clean. The managers were on hand to assist the crew. The crew has been well trained. If you want to be treated special just to watch a movie, this is the place. The seat are so comfy too!! more

This is a great location for this Movie Theatre as it is right off the freeway and there is no way that you can miss it~as it is RIGHT THERE!! And tje parking is not a problem as the lot is huge!!!! The prices are about average to any other theatre but I can never pass that hot buttered popcorn!! I love that statium seating and the chairs are really comfty!!!! The movies change all the time so I know I can see a new realse there all the time!! more

Easy to access -- right off the freeway. Ample parking. Ticket purchasing made easy. Excellent handling of theater locations (it is a BIG place). Refreshments are good, but not excellent. It must be "the place to go" as we almost always run in to someone we know! Always runs a selection of movies to suit several types of movie goers. Going to the late afternoon movie helps reduce the number of unsupervised children and young teens. more

If you are used to the old fashioned simple rake seating this will blow your mind. Each row is raised about 2 feet which allows everyone to have a perfect view. There is a regular seating area at the bottom if that is your thing. The only downer is all the suburb kids running around like idiots, but what do you expect in Oakdale? This is the only reason I go to Oakdale, but it is worth it. more

This place is huge, but well organized. You can buy tickets on the internet in advance and they are quick on the uptake with getting them for you. There are so many theaters that they have a LCD display with notices about checking in for your movie that are easy to understand...just beware the line cutters who hawk the entrances and jump in line. The theater seats are all arranged like stadium seating and are spacious, foot room is ample. You can even retract the arm rest for couch like seating. Clean as a whistle and good sound systems. more
