My problem is more with State Farm as a company than Carmen, but she is my Agent. I've spoken with her and got the impression she is a sweet person, but not someone I would want in my corner when fighting for me as a customer, she seemed very passive to me. \r
\r
All my interactions with the staff, seemed like they were very polite, courteous, friendly, but that does nothing when they are incapable of, or unwilling to fight for their customers rights, customers like me who have bent over backwards not to cost them money for things.\r
\r
We had a deer strike, that knocked out a headlight crushed in a front panel and door, as it turned out in my opinion it also damaged the fans on the radiator because they quit working at the same time. When they repaired the body work they found the damage was ""more extensive"" than initially thought, and charged them about 20% more than the estimate. When I took the car in to the mechanic and found out the fans failed (same time as deer strike) I called the agent, they went out and have denied the fans because there was ""no visible damage at that location"". \r
\r
When I got the car appraised for the bodywork at one of the shops State Farm recommended, they noted that since the headlight was out it was not ""street legal' and I could use my rental coverage and have State Farm provide me a vehicle. I declined what would have been a $630 cost to State Farm (21 days until was fixed at $30/day) I had 2 other cars sitting at home, so I figured I'd keep costs down for everyone. I Paid extra for that privilege, but wanted to treat the company right, unlike they treated me. \r
\r
When I found out there was more extensive damage than expected by the body work, and that the fans had ""suddenly' quit working at the exact same time, we called State Farm back and had them check it out. State Farm denied it was caused by the deer and rejected the claim. \r
\r
This is not the first instance I've had difficulty with State Farm (different agent), but it will be the last. We are switching as soon as we can. \r
\r
They were even going to CHARGE ME TO LEAVE EARLY!!!!! About $80 for cancelling 2 months early. So I might just have to stay with these crooks(my opinion), for 2 more months so I wont be penalized. \r
\r
Why oh why did I stay with State Farm for over 20 years. A HUGE mistake. 4 out of the 4 auto claims have been a COMPLETE nightmare. \r
\r
First, (around 1992) CD player stolen, denied it was covered in policy until I pointed it out to them in my copy of the policy, then insisted on seeing a receipt which took weeks to pull from Circuit City, then only wanted to pay 1/2. \r
\r
Second, (around 1995) VW Golf front end damaged, they were never able to get oil pressure sensor to not alarm on hot days, then said they weren't going to pay anymore. \r
\r
Third, (around 1997)Deer strike on another car, sub-par body work/painter State Farm recommended took several times (weeks and weeks) to get to be acceptable. \r
\r
Fourth, (2012)Painter/Body work did a fair job, but State Farm denied additional damage under hood was result of strike \r

I have zero traffic violations, and my wife of 12+ years hasn't had any since we got married. If they don't want to honor our agreements for our Auto/Home/Umbrella/and personal property policies anymore, I'll be happy not to beg them to keep stealing my money (over $2,700/year) with no real protection.\r
