Okay, I know it's been awhile but my mother has a classic well made sofa (from the 70's) that has lasted longer. I have the camels back sofa that they still make. The problem...the sofa bed is too low and it cause the upholstery on the front (that would be behind your knees) to wear down to the padding that is inside and it gets wider all the time, along the length of the front. THEIR SOLUTION? The sofa bed mechanism needs to be raised! And it costs a lot and they admit it is a design flaw! For what I paid they should come and do it for free. Not only that I have to have the whole thing recovered because the fabric won't match over this much time. I understand that sofas will need to be recovered over time but the price to recover at Carlyle around $1000 or more. They claim they are so well made but this is false. If you want to spend a lot of money on a piece you will enjoy over time I suggest you go elsewhere.
