Editorial review from Citysearch 8/21/2013

Dr. C & Mrs. Carlisle are fantastic! My daughter began her education at Carlisle School when she was 3 and my husband and I couldn't have made a better choice for her. Not only did she learn her ABCs there, she can tell me which classical composer is on the radio, recite The New Colossus by Emma Lazarus in its entirety & has incredible artistic ability due to the loving care & guidance she has received at Carlisle School. My daughter went back over the holidays to spend a few days and when we walked in there was a new two year old crying on Dr. Carlisle's lap. My daughter took her hand and said, ""Let me show you all the great things about Carlisle School."" They taught her how to be a compassionate mentor. This summer Dr. & Mrs. Carlisle got my daughter ready for first grade & honed her chess game. They are incredibly gifted educators and I am so thankful to them for their precious care of their students. more

Carlisle School 2/4/2012

I would highly recommend the Carlisle School as an excellent education and also a place that really caters to children in a loving and compassionate way. Dr. Richard Carlisle and Mrs. Susan Carlisle are so very gifted as educators, but they also bring so much care to the children at the school, you can really sense it in a heartfelt way. more

Life long lasting childhood expierience 12/14/2011

The Carlisle School is an incredible place for a young mind to be nourished and to grow. I am now twenty years old, and my experience at this school is still with me. There is so much personal attention and unique teaching styles, that any child will develop in a positive way and learn a lot. It reminds me of a Montessori education because the school uses a great deal of different cultures and tools to engage the children. Mrs. Carlisle and Dr. C are so experienced and have been teaching since before I was born; you are not wasting your money by sending your kids to this school. more

Outstanding Kindergarten 3/28/2011

The Carlisle School is really remarkable. What they do for children in pre-K is a delightful, English-Spanish bilingual program in which the little ones grow in social skills while learning together. The Kindergarten program is truly the outstanding thing about this unique school. Not only do they teach both in English and Spanish, but Mrs. Carlisle and Dr. ""C"" take children through the great masters in the Visual Arts and Music; they bring geography to life with foreign languages and songs from around the world; they give children life-long appreciation for poetry and drama; and they do it in a way that can only be called ""delightful instruction."" They take incredible care with ""the basics:"" reading and math are taught to one child at a time, rather than in group settings, to assure that each child is taught with his/her strengths and needs in mind. I am so thankful that my son (now a senior in high school) had the benefit of such an outstanding Kindergarten to get him headed in the right direction. more

Truly outstanding 11/10/2007

The Carlisle School is truly amazing. Imagine sending your child to a cozy cottage with a large backyard full of playground equipment and toys. Imagine a schoolroom hung with pictures of the great masters of art, literature, and music. Imagine an easle for painting and creating. Imagine your kindergartner learning Robert Frost poems from memory and enjoying it. Imagine your child feeling loved, nurtured, respected and honored as an individual. Imagine your child learning more than you thought possible. Imagine the convenience of being able to drop off your child as early at 7:00 AM or pick up as late at 6 PM on the days when you need to, and not paying any extra fee. Imagine the best possible early childhood experience for your child, and you will perhaps get a glimpse of the Carlisle School. Pros: too many to name more

Top Notch School 1/13/2007

This small school doesn't advertise; you must learn of it from friends. My son and daughter attended, and I couldn't have been more pleased. It is a classic in every sense. The children leave more poised and refined from their experience with the Carlisles. In many ways, it's like stepping back in the good part of the 40's. more

Probably the best kindergarten in Dallas 1/8/2007

My three grandchildren attended this school, and all have had very successful educations. They were always more academically confident than their peers.\r Dr. Richard Carlisle is a scholar, and Mrs. Carlisle is a gifted Montessorian -styled teacher.\r This school reminds me of the great prep schools of the forties. Pros: superior on small scale Cons: wish it were larger and included 1-12 more
