Caring Adoptions

My husband and I knew we wanted to be adoptive parents very early in our dating relationship. Even when adoption is a wish and not necessarily plan B for creating your family, finding the right adoption agency that fits your family can be tough. From the first moment we walked into Caring Adoptions, we knew we'd found our adoption 'home'. Our journey wasn't an easy one and definitely didn't go as we'd imagined, but the incredible staff at Caring Adoptions was there to guide and support us the entire way. We will most likely not adopt again because we've always planned to only have one child, but if we decide to have more children, there isn't any other agency we'd even consider. If you're beginning your journey and are still looking for the perfect agency fit for your family, we highly suggest attending one of Caring Adoption's 'Adoption 101' seminars and see the loving, supportive environment and family style approach they have to offer for yourself. The review by Pwong 2387 says it all for me. I give them one star too. Do not go to them. They turned me down by FedEx letter and when I call to try and find out, I get the answer "Pat is not there". We gave them our money and we don't hear from them for weeks. Sue Lemmon, our caseworker, wouldn't respond to our emails for weeks. How long does it take to reply to an email? A quick email takes like 2 minutes, tops. Then she tells us they're meeting about our homestudy, and leaves us in limbo for several days about the decision and then I call Pat Bridges (Executive Director) for the decision, left her several messages...She had the nerve to go out of town and not return my messages and decides to do the cowardly way of FedExing us the letter instead of calling us to tell us in detail. The letter didn't tell us in detail and of course, when I called back to speak to Pat Bridges, I got the famous runaround "She's not here".....I wish I had met my son's speech therapist before I had gone to Caring Adoptions because she told me a few weeks ago that Gladney and Arrow Adoption Agency were the best and most wanted agencies that her friends used but alas, like PWONG2387 said, we were stuck with them. We got a bad feeling about Caring Adoptions after not hearing from them for weeks and we wanted to go to Gladney or Arrow and not work with Caring Adoptions. They seem to be very, very insensitive.
