Just had my furnace checked and cleaned by Carefree Comfort located in Highland Park. The serviceman was not only respectful but took the time in answering all my questions concerning my furnace. I have used Carefree Comfort for many years now and have had no problems. In fact, my ignitor went out a couple of years back and was replaced the same day. Great Job! Thank you..... more

Good work 1/10/2012

We've had Carefree Comfort come to our house for annual routine check-ups. Overall, the technician is professional, friendly, and on time. Unfortunately, our heater ignitor went out over New Years one month after our annual check-up. The technician was prompt and replaced the ignitor the next day. No issues since then. However, we were hoping the annual check-ups would detect and prevent these issues from occurring, which we were told by the technician at the time of the part replacement. This way we wouldn't have to pay for another service call (especially the price for an emergency call). In the future, we will not have annual check-ups given the difficulty of detecting potential issues with the heating system. We'd rather take our chances. Overall, they do good work. more

They went above and beyond 1/10/2012

Jan 19, 2012 On Dec 28, my wife noticed the furnace was making more noise than usual. I went downstairs and confirmed the furnace was making a very high pitched sound. I called Carefree Comfort (it was late afternoon). They asked if the furnace was putting out heat and I said yes. They came first thing the next day and the technician diagnosed the problem within minutes. Dominic called that afternoon to say they could get the part but that it was very expensive and that he was talking to warranty people to see if anything could be done about the situation (my ten year warranty had expired about 8 mos ago). He was able to get the warranty people to give me the part for free. Not many businesses will bother to do this and Carefree Comfort certainly did not have to do what they did for me. But I am very grateful that they did. I would highly recommend them to anyone. more

Very Satisfied Customer 12/29/2011

It took Carefree Comfort a couple weeks to get back to me and schedule an appointment, but I anticipate that is because they are very busy due to the fact they come very highly recommended. Once scheduled they arrived on time and did a great job cleaning and checking my furnace. They were also answered all of my questions and gave me a few recommendations to help my house be more efficient. I'm a very satisfied customer and plan on using them again next year. more

carefree did a wonderful job installing a new a/c plus repairs to the existing one....arrived on time ,completed the entire job in just over 4 hours....cleaned up ,hauled away all trash.....great job dave and his crew bobv more

excellent company /reasonably priced 6/17/2011

They responded to my inquiry immediately and came out the next day to look at replacing an AC unit. Without any pressure from them, I decided to replace my broken unit but the 2nd unit as well. It was working but was old and probably on the way out. The work was done within a weeks time. They came when expected...laid down drop clothes, and cleaned up nicely. No complaints. I highly reccommend them. I had used another company for many years but, for the same exact services, Carefree saved me a lot of $$$. more

Carefree comfort is an excellent company for AC/Heating equipment repair and replacement. They have a 24/7 hot line and they come out to your residence within 30minutes. I would recommend this business to my friends. more

Their Name Says It All - Care Free 12/12/2010

We hired Carefree Comfort to install a high efficiency furnace in a home we just purchased. Joe, one of the brothers who owns the company, came over to give us a quote, explain how a high eff furnace is different than what we've had before and walked us through the installation process. The installers arrived on time, finished when Joe said they would and cleaned up after themselves. They even wore booties while walking through the house. Plus, one of the brothers came by at the end of the day to make sure the job had been done right and helped us program the new thermostat. The price was competitive with anything else we found and all the paperwork we needed to file for the tax credit was provided. The whole process was about as painless as could be. more

Professional AC and Heating Services 11/24/2010

I have hired Carefree Comfort twice, and find their staff to be professional and informative. Their pricing is comparable to competitors. The difference is they spend more time educating the issues and providing high quality services. I feel that I am saving money on my heating and AC needs with Carefree Comfort. We have been very happy with their services and plan to use them for all our needs. more

We signed up for Carefree Comfort's maintenance contract and have been very happy. They are polite, on-time, thorough and reasonable. When we called and thought we had an issue, they came right out and examined everything closely. It turns out our issue was with something else. I highly recommend using Carefree Comfort. I am very happy with them and plan to continue using them. more

From the gentleman answering the phone to the gentleman checking my furnace/water heater, excellent customer service!!! On time, polite, and the service tech was so patient with me as I tend to ask a lot of questions!!! On top of all that, my water heater has not worked this well in years!! And very reasonable prices. Have used before, and I will definitely be using again. more

Fabulous company for heating and air conditioning 10/18/2010

We have used this company for 20 + years.. they are honest, fair and do not overcharge you.. they come at anytime in an emergency and they fixed my air conditioning so it truly worked.. when i would have people over before it was always so hot.. they put in a new pipe in closet that made it work. .Evey year we have them clean and check our furnace.WE WILL USE CAREFREE COMFORT FOREVER!!!! more

Mixed Feelings, but I would go again..... 10/15/2010

Carefree came and rescued us when our heating system went down, great job - great deal and service... That is the good part, 7 years later the blower motor went bad, and of course out of warrenty, no service contract (we declined at time of purchase, remember we just spent huge on an unexpected heater replacement). This was a multi-stage unit and new blower motor was $1500.00+ to replace - WOW... Just thought I would advise HONESTLY that we felt horrible over this experience - I guess just bad luck....... more
