Very good results, used them twice! 7/21/2006

Career Pro did a great job writing my resume and connecting me with the people in this area to find employment. The first time I used Career Pro was to change my career path. I was using a resume from a low budget online resume service. There was no personal service online either. I was tired of spinning my wheels after 3 months with my $300 resume and lack of service. I met with John to see what he had to offer and check out his list of credentials, certifications and accomplishments. After receiving my Career Pro resume, and the service that went along with it, I was getting interviews within the first 2 weeks. The problem of changing careers was not an issue any longer. I had a job offer in the medical device field within 3 weeks after using Career Pro. With John's coaching I was asking for more pay than I was before meeting with him. The result was a career change with 18% more pay. The next time I used Career Pro was 4 years later when the company I was working for was sold. This happened right before the Thanksgiving holiday. Not being one to sit on my termination package I called John the day we received our notice. My urgency was met with John's service and skill and the result was another job offer with employment before New Years Day. The yearly bonus and pay increase at this new position was a small fraction of what I paid John. The quality effort on John's part gave me a feeling of control in the job market. The price for my resume and search package was a very small percentage of the raise and bonus I received. I will use Career Pro again if I need to. Pros: They are action people at Career Pro. Great job search abilities. Lots of information. Cons: The vast amount of information and resources seemed overwhelming at first, but was extremely helpful overall. more

Very Complete Career Services - Expensive but Good 7/20/2006

If you are looking for a basic resume you should ask them. I sent a friend in who needed a kind of cheap but good one-pager and they did it for a little over 200. I paid for their full writing package and then added other research, interview skills and help with leads. Totally I paid 1000 about and then doubled to more. But here is what I got - over 1000 pages of research, 100 pages of interview guide, assistance on leads, unlimited access to them (and I bugged them a lot!), and they sent out most of my leads. For comparison I got nothing from the resume I paid for a year ago online. It was okay, about 300 bucks. But the kicker is that I received more than several quality interviews as a buyer and in medical sales - yes, I went for both and they did two versions of the resume and covering materials. Totally I increased my income with bonuses that I think I will get this year by more than $15K. It was worth it. John told me they are geared to do recruiting too and they are getting away from basic, low level resumes which is too bad. But if you want something cheap or to match an internet rate you could ask them. But they are geared to do more which is what I wanted and got. With my package they offerred to do a free update for my current employer so I have kept in touch. John has given me some recommendations on potentially moving to part-time if I get serious about kids in the next few years. So I know they work with military people getting out and do federal resumes too. I can't comment on that. It's helpful to read their articles. Go to them if you are serious about your career and will follow their advice. Pros: Very comprehensive job search services and very open to changes and my personal situation Cons: It took me two meetings to figure out what I needed and all that they do - they need a spreadsheet! more

I recommend them. 7/20/2006

I needed help with getting a new job, my resume was awesome...no way I could come up with the way they put it together. They also were very timely and had a big network in the area that I was able to use, they also gave me a huge amount of research to start my search with. They are professional, friendly, serious about their business and helped me get my foot in the door, can't ask for much more. Thanx Guys! Pros: Helped me get my next job, resume I can use for a long time. Cons: Slightly on the expensive side...good ROI though. more

Extremely Expensive 6/20/2006

These 2 guys did a good job on my resume. I paid way to much for it ($600)!!! If you read closely the first 2 reviews appear to be written by P & J (owners). Their pricing is not clearly set and they do not provide a good understanding of the services you receive in return. Surely there is another choice in Raleigh? Pros: Quality resume returned quickly Cons: Way too expensive for what they provide. more

I would recommend them highly... 3/2/2006

They started with a private consultation, putting together a package for me that wasn't preset or form-fit...I liked that. I had trouble writing my docs and had no idea how to search, except for monster and recruiters. I knew they probably had better ideas, and they did. In fact my offer was $13K more than I expected...I like that ROI. Not sure what the negative reviewer's problem was, maybe we are talking about a different company...more expensive yes, nice or not they were worth every penny. Pros: Strong network, ROI for investment, diverse products Cons: they can be busy, more expensive more

They're friendly and all --more than happy to take your money. They made such a mess of my resume--what a disorganized mess. I finally just rewrote the resume myself and created a much better product..Save your money--it's not worth all the hype Pros: none Cons: expensive more
