We bought our current car from CarMax last year. It was a strange experience (no sharks waiting at the door for us), and people were friendly, not phony. Our sales person was great. He was more than helpful. We took four different cars out for a test, and he answered all of our questions. He took the time to understand our needs and wants in a vehicle and spent the time trying to find the best fit for us with the vehicles they had on the lot and in their system-wide database. We had the best experience here TWICE, the staff was very helpful and friendly but not pushy. They basically leave you to wander and the second you have a question they are there to answer it and then leave you to continue shopping. No pushy sales people. The price, miles and equipment are clearly displayed on every car. The kids play rooom inside is very helpful, bright and fun! We will buy our third car here for sure! Gently used, beautiful cars, huge variety, clean lot and best of all you can check their website for inventory and see photos! I sold my used car to carmax a while back and I would defnitely go back in the future. The sales person and the appraisers are friendly and they explain all the terms and how they derive the price that they had appraised step by step. There are only a few paper work to handle and it definitely saves time and money to sell your cars to carmax! more

If you're looking for a high-quality used car, then stop by CarMax in Duarte. My husband and I bought my car there a year ago, and use their service center for maintenance. I love my car. I had already developed a clear idea of what I wanted, a Toyota Camry LE (hopefully green.) I didn't want an older model with a high mileage, nor a brand new one. We stopped in at CarMax in December 2003, and found two 2003 Camrys with less than 10,000 miles on them. Both drove beautifully. We had been "just looking;" however, one of them was green. The price was reasonable, just don't expect to negotiate. The price on the sticker is the price you will pay, CarMax's policy. Also, they do not reveal the car's history before the purchase is final. My husband would have changed those two things, but outside of that was pleased with the experience. Quality: Not everyone may know this, but CarMax also sells cars to dealerships.
