Car Max Auto Finance

I did not like having to pay a full month's payment to pay ahead, so I dipped into my IRA and paid off the loan. The loan release sent to me was to the State Tax Commission, but I have my title through a tribal government Tax Commission. The tribal government does not recognize the State lien release, so I call CarMax to get it straightened out. I did not get positive results from the lady I spoke with (who had also spoken with her supervisor), so I asked to go up the ""food chain"" to speak with the supervisor. I get transferred to a phone number with a recording. Right now I am stuck with a paid off vehicle whose title states that CarMax is the lien holder. The unsigned tribal lien release was sent with the State Tax Commission lien release from CarMax. I just want to know who to send the paperwork to, so that I can get the proper signatures on the proper tribal lien release and their name off my title. I like the car, but this paperwork headache is not worth buying another one from them. Still waiting for a call back from the CarMax title division. more

Don't you just love when you pay online it posts a day later, I guess for more interest. Also, we were a payment ahead always, when it came time for payoff it was the day of the contract end date. I received a late payment because I did not pay that month. I was waiting for the contract end date, final payment (Payoff) that CARMAX provided. It was not worth the effort of trying to talk with them to try and get removed. \r Actually bought second car from them. It broke down as soon as we got home. It would not start the next morning, We put amount 500+ miles on it, trying to get repaired. We will never buy from Carmax again! \r Oh, and they kept telling us we should have bought the warranty!! more

I purchased a car and financed it through CarMax in 2007 and I have never once had an issue with them. My car still runs wonderfully after entering my fourth year driving it. I just refinanced with my bank today and the people at CarMax were very cooperative and helpful. The lady at the desk was very polite and friendly. Also, I did have to contact the CarMax Auto Finance office a few times to get instructions and have documents faxed. Not once did I speak to a rude CSR nor did anyone ever seem annoyed or as if they were burdened by my requests. Some of you may want to remember, when you call places like this, that these people are human too and they're all just doing their jobs, just like you. On that note, I'm not one of those people who whines and moans when I don't get my way nor do I have a false sense of entitlement so this review may not be helpful to a lot of you. But for those of you who have the decency to behave civilly, I am very pleased with CarMax and will be returning there one day when I'm ready for a newer car. more
