Car Craft

I am very happy with Car Craft. Anytime I call them for work or to look at my car, they can get me in right away. They always do a very good job, and I totally trust them. We have had many experiences with Car Craft. For the most recent one, the transmission in the car went out. They came to our house, checked on it to make sure it was okay, and ultimately ended up towing it to their shop. I've been going to Car Craft since they had a place on the Atlanta Highway 20 years ago. Steve Tingle was still a young kid then, and now he's a grandfather. Anyway, they're as good as any shop I've ever been to, and I'm not going anywhere else. My report is all superlatives, so they get the highest marks in every category from me. Car Craft is absolutely amazing! They go above and beyond the call of duty. I've never worked with an automotive shop that is this ethical and professional. They don't tell you they need to fix that don't need to be fixed. I've had a wonderful experience with them, and I look forward to spending more time with them. They just do good work from start to finish. When you go in there, you know that you will get professional work at a reasonable price, and it's only work that actually needs to be done on the vehicle. Our children grew up associating the name with terms like "Trustworthy Business," "Fair Dealing," and "Stand behind their work." We occasionally stop in just to ask advice, or just to say Hi. I discovered Car Craft when I lived in Athens sometime back in the 70's. I have always found them to be fair and honest and reasonably priced. Since moving to Atlanta in 1984, I have continued to take my cars to them. On one occasion, a mechanic who no longer works there made a mistake and that mistake caused my engine to have to be rebuilt, Car Craft fully owned the problem, provided me a loaner car, and even offered to give me a nicer car than mine if I wanted to trade up, which I did! I love knowing I can trust them. more

I've been dealing with Car Craft for 20 something years. In terms of recommendations, I've recommended a number of people to them over the years. I used to work around the corner from them, and I have seen them do things that are amazing. In terms of help, I used to travel a bunch, so I was often away from home. They would come to the house to give my wife help with her car while I was away. I have five vehicles, and the only ones Car Craft doesn't get are the ones that are under control because they are brand new. The only thing that keeps me from them is a well running machine. For anything that needs repairs, I take it to them. If Car Craft makes a mistake, and it's not like bad things don't happen, they are willing to go back and do the work. You won't pay any extra money for the repair. more

Car Craft is very good. They provide good service, and are prompt and knowledgeable. If more problems show up outside of what they already quoted, they call and talk with you about it, and don't make you do anything you don't want to. I think Car Craft is wonderful. I've lived in Virginia, and here in Athens, and have never had better. People all over Atlanta go to them because of my recommendations. And I really do like their work. They are very professional. From the front desk to the mechanics, I only have praise for Car Craft of Athens. I have had over 10 vehicles serviced there for over 30 years and have always been treated with great care and respect. The employees and management of businesses in my experience are usually an extension of the owner... occasionally by design, but often by modeling. Steve Tingle seems to want for my car what he would want for his car ... service done right the first time with good communication at a fair price. So, Car Craft of Athens loves this Golden Rule approach. I have also learned over time that cars are complicated electro-mechanical-fluid devices, that we live in a fallen, broken world where we can control less than we think, and that the older cars I drive can present all kinds of problems to my mechanics. Over 30 years, has Car Craft nailed every problem the first time with all my cars. Nope, just 95 of the time. Realistically, that is really amazing to me... almost always right is stellar in my book. And what I love about this place is that they are committed to helping me fix everything they can, and if they make a mistake, they work to make it as right as they can. Simply put, they clearly aspire to practice what they preach. It comes down to trust, competency, and fair pricing for me. Car repair is always more expensive than I tend to think it will be or like. I think your car place boils down to trusting someone to work hard to be right and trusting them to be honest when they're wrong (as everyone will be on occasion). I have found the folks I trust at Car Craft of Athens. I know this sounds like a commercial. But it is even better than that. It is the truth, and Car Craft has always treated me "better than I deserve". So I remain a loyal and grateful customer of Steve Tingle, his office staff, and his mechanics. more
